I am not 100% sure that refusing to have debates on Fox was a great idea, but I am 100% sure than changing their stance on it now would make the Democrats look weak.

Why would having a debate on the government propaganda network be a good idea?

I'll even go with a reason that doesn't involve that just to start. It's cable news which has relatively low viewer numbers, and last time they refused to stream debates so that a wider audience could view them.

If they got Shep as a moderator, it could have been a fair debate, and it would have been a gesture to Fox viewers. Would it get any Fox viewers? No. But it would have been a sop to those who fancy themselves centrist. Now we have to hear whining from people like Bill Maher, but that's still less damaging than changing the current DNC stance. Waffling is unforgivable. Being intractable is not.

Either way, it's Dems In Disarray. Might as well deny them some revenue in the bargain.

If they got something, it could have been something. When you have to lead off with two qualifiers, you can kind of see the problem. How would anyone have any faith that Fox News would host a Democratic debate in a good faith manner.

You've also mixed up the center with Fox News, I would have a hard time believing that anyone actually in the center would consider Fox News to be centrist.

Anyway, Fox News isn't getting one, and the media who want to rush to their defense are morons who haven't heard the tale of the fox and the scorpion.

Fox leads the charge against the Democrats for 20 years.
Democrats refuse to give them the free advertising that comes with the debate.

If the Dems changed their stance about it, they would gain... Nothing, and would be gifting legitimacy (and revenue) to a dedicated Republican propaganda outlet.

Okay, so if the Democrats did decide to allow FOX to have one of the debates, what do you think the questions would be?

How soon after entering office would you ban all guns in Merica?

After how Bernie just did on his Fox Town Hall, I think the DNC might want to rethink this decision
I don't think Fox will want to have a Dem debate after all

I have great respect for Bret [Baier] and for Chris [Wallace] and for you, but you've demonstrated that above your pay grade, they don't trust your own listeners, and so they feel like they have to put the thumb on the scale."

I thought that Fox's ratings declined during a GOP presidency. You need a guy like Obama (centrist, but Muslim as all hell and also a communist) or Sanders (professed democratic socialist who may or may not f*ck goats...we're just asking questions) to keep those eyes and ears glued to your bullsh*t network.

Hi! So nice to see you, it's been a while! 😊 How are you?

I didn't see the beginning of the town hall since I was at work so I can't speak to the whole thing but the clips that I saw were awesome.

This primary is shaping up to be exciting -  Bernie and Warren are still my top favorites personally and policy wise. But really most of the field has done well trying not to maul each other, so let's see who finds their voice.

Hemmer responded by making the case that there is a line between the news division and editorial sides of the network.

Wait...didn't they argue, in court no less, at one point that that line did NOT exist?

Fox News could totally get the republicans to use their own debates as leverage by refusing to have them on CNN or MSNBC... except, they aren't having any this year since they're blocking anyone from posing a primary challenge to Trump. Too bad, so sad.

Truthfully while I liked how he answered that question, I didn't like how he answered the previous. When he was asked how Democrats would fight against Trump when Trump is getting more money for his reelection than anyone running on the other side, he said they would run on their values.

No sir... you should've gone with the idea that the Democrats aren't being hoisted up by the 1% and foreign interests. Democrats aren't going to get more money, because they aren't taking money from the ones who will be shafted heavily if the GOP lose power.

I disagree with his decision to give Fox News legitimacy, but he has more cross-over appeal from working class blue collars that live, breath, and die to Fox News than any other primary candidate running bar possibly Beto.
