The original writeup in the Miami Herald  was much much better:
Link here --David J. Neal -- remember the name.

"Upper Keys Sgt. Robert Dosh, sitting at Mile Marker 87 at 2:13 a.m., claimed Molina boogied by him doing 75 mph.
Dash hit his siren. Molina hit 100 mph."

He's channeling his inner Joe Walsh.

FTFA: This isn't Molina's first run-in with cops. According to court records, Molina has nine traffic ticket convictions between 2013 and 2019, including one in Miami-Dade county for doing 100 mph in a 55 mph zone...

Anyway, suspend his licence for 2 years. If he gets pulled over again within those two years, throw his ass to prison for a few months and then suspend his license forever.

"the female in the passenger seat stated that Molina did indeed see Sgt. Dosh's lights and heard his siren. She also stated she told Molina to slow down."
The woman was allowed to leave and was not held by officers.

Bwahahahahahahahah nice girlfriend you got yourself there, holmes. And only a 100? He could have done that in a Gorka Edition 4 banger Mustang.

"The car is a Ferrari, and it goes fast." .With language skills like those, he could become president some day.

I'm guessing that car wasn't even insured.

I can't imagine what the rates would be for a lead foot like that.  Hell, I bet they would be astronomical if he was trying to insure a Toyota Tercel - forget a "fast Ferrari".

What a sad lack of ambition and what a waste of a Ferrari. Little old ladies in Ford Fiestas do 75mph to 100mph on motorways here.

FTA: after he spotted the sports car at a gas station down the highway.

Well, I can't say I'm shocked. Can pretty much assume Ferrari's average out to be the slowest vehicles you can buy. You get ten minutes of high speed then roll the dice on twenty minutes filling up or 6 weeks of stationary in a workshop.

Yes, his "date".

Crush the car.

He should get a greater sentence for only doing 100MPH while running from the cops in a Ferrari (even the crap Ferrari put out in the 70s / early 80s).  Either traffic was way too dense to get up to speed, or he's too scared of speed to have that car.  Either way, he should definitely be off the roads.

My money is on people remembering R.J. Johnson.

100?  That's nothing.  I got a 4-cylinder jeep with the top down up to 100 once.  (Granted it was VERY down-hill.)  I had a ford taurus SHO going 120 or 140 one time.  (Man, those days are LONG over.)

Most of the cost will be in theft/collision type coverage. Plenty of other cars out there capable of 100+ mph

Took him 6 years to get 9 tickets?  I did that in 3.  However I never had my license suspended, or arrested.

75 in a 55?  The cops just pass you if you're going that slow around here.

In 1980, a V-8 mustang made 119 hp according to Car & Driver. Today, the turbo 4 makes something like 310 hp and 350 lb-ft of torque. That's considerably more than a Corvette with a 350 V-8 made in the late 80s/early 90s, too.
