There is "no question" that the fundraising "was adversely impacted by certain establishment donors - and many online - who continue to punish Kirsten for standing up for her values and for women," the Gillibrand campaign told the Washington Post.

Well, that's the sort of comment that will bring them all around. Way to thread that needle, Gillibrand campaign.

Standing up for her values = more than happy to get a decade of help from Clinton until it was time to throw him under the bus.

Scree Frankencence and Myrrh.

"Money answereth all things."

Sometimes I suspect that Author(s) of the Bible were cynics. But then that might just be the Ecclesiaste.

My favourite Biblical Author.

I'm sure that's accurate, but it's a very unwise thing to voice it.

Some people think Frankenstance was the name of the monster, but it's actually the last name of the doctor.

I legitimately thought she'd dropped out already.

Yeah no shiat. That facebook page where she was begging for a dollar became a monument of contempt for her tone-deaf stance on the Franken issue. It. Was. Brutal.

Forget Democrats. TRUMP COLLUDES WITH DHARMA.

Whom the Way would destroy, it first makes a fan of over-done steak with ketchup.

/ "Collides" does not seem to me to be the mot juste. So I did minimum editing to keep the thought as close as I could to what I think Subby meant.

When you say something mean, vulgar, rude or stupid, you collude with Dharma. Collision suggests that Dharma is something immobile. It is, in fact, something very dynamic and active in the world.

Poetic irony, maybe?

Yes, her "values" that her shot at the presidency was a transcendent moral imperative that made it ok for her, as a woman, to stand up for her right to stab her colleague in the back.

I think Franken was a good comic and therefore a good Senator. But he's probably doing fine. He may even be over it. I can't hold a grudge against somebody I know so little about.

Trump. Ut Carthago delenda est. I know way, way, way too much about Trump and have since about 1982.

To be fair, she didn't stab him in the back. She stabbed him in his face. Schumer stabbed him in the back shortly afterward.

I'm not the first to ask. What the bloody fark was she thinking when she launched a Presidential bid after killing a prominent, capable Democratic Senator?

Yeah I don't get leaning in to it if you've identified it as a fundraising liability.

I don't think Al is "over it." He REALLY liked being a Senator and he was very good at it. I think he's devastated, actually.

Boy, could Franken ever question a witness! He could have been a great lawyer if he had chosen fame, money and evil over comedy! Smart enough and funny enough!

This was all her poorly thought out plan. She threw him under the bus solely because he was going to be a very strong opponent in a presidential campaign.

No. They are for sale in the campaign gift shop, though. T's start at $65 dollars and mugs at $16.

Gillibrand was the first senator to call for Franken's resignation in 2017, a move that rankled some top donors.

they also mentioned the "many online" who aren't going to open their wallets for this POS.

throwing franken under the bus was supposed to make her run easier.  when that backfires there's a word for that.  oh yeah it's in the headline.

And I'm sure that her existing donors are going to really like the statement from her.

damaged maven: I'm not the first to ask. What the bloody fark was she thinking when she launched a Presidential bid after killing a prominent, capable Democratic Senator?

She thought it would be smooth sailing without him in her way to get the Democratic nomination. Because the only thing standing between her and the White House was Franken! /s

Oh sweety,

I want someone that is for due process of law, not knee jerk reactions and being the judge and jury alone.

And whaa - the irony of such a statement in the face of the patriarchy!!

Yeah well, you go ahead and become the thing you hate, and let us know how it all turns out.

Standing up for her values to sweep allegations under the rug when it's one of her staff and a close friend?

It's worse than that. She was advertising on the Franken thing before this issue. She literally reminded everyone what she did.

I dont think its misogyny so much as it is stupidity. Every woman D senator coordinated to call for Franken's resignation. Gillibrand was chosen to go first because she had taken the legislative lead on these issues. By the time accuser number 8, a democratic Senate staffer who is very unlikely to have been an agent of Roger Stone, came up, they were all sick of Franken's shiat.

Kirstin didn't screw Al, Al screwed Al

The problem is both of them.

One can't keep their hands to themselves, and one doesn't give a fark about due process so long as it has the appearance of helping her campaign odds. (which, it hasn't).

Cunning plan, and all that.

Allegedly. The photo evidence provided for one actually showed him not groping her.
