It really needs to be noted that the spider STILL bit the sh*t out of the cricket.

Although, I learned something today, in that squirrels are sensitive to capsaicin. Which means, that the bird feeder this year is getting a dose of pepper spray and we will take notes if it affects the wee li'l bastiches...

Do they hate wasabi or just green-dyed horseradish?

me too

Which is exactly the reason I hate wolf spiders. Wasabi is farking great and if they can't understand that then they deserve extinction.

So they look badass, they're among the most awesome spider-moms, and they're not competing with me for condiments?  Hey, wolf spiders, if you need a space to chill, I got space for like a couple hundred of y'all.

They sell hot pepper seed to keep mammals out of your bird feeders.

Although I harbor suspicion that birds do in fact feel hot pepper and are just too angry to care.

If your ancestors were badass dinosaurs, and you wound up evolving into a barely a mouthful of feathers and fluff, you'd be angry too...

Spiders dislike most things if you cover them in enough of it. A nice chilled Moscow mule works real well.
And that's why I have an undying hate of spiders.

Don't worry, if you've got old drainage systems, they will happily chill there.

CSB: Had never seen a wolf spider until I moved to WV.  Thought it was a plastic toy someone had placed as a joke.  Went to move it, and it moved.  Nearly needed to change my pants.

"But when exposed to allyl isothiocyanate"

It's confirmed; spiders are vampires...

No. I want to see if these little bastiches suddenly develop an issue with their paws or squirrel bits halfway up the post, because that may discourage them worse than suddenly realizing the taste wasn't right. If not...then, yeah, pepper seed might work eventually, but I want to see if the get Great Balls of Fire...because, essentially, where squirrels are concerned, I am a monster...

I'm good with being the villain for a group of squirrels.

Hummingbirds are perhaps the most aggressive species within the animal domain.

This text is now purple: Hummingbirds are perhaps the most aggressive species within the animal domain.

At best, tied with short guidos at a pick-up game.
