"Come and take it" (them) a/k/a Molon Labe is not from Texas. It's from the 300 Spartans of Thermopylae.

That's cute if you think the current Republican President is different from the one prior in any fashion.

The next Bush president is going to be W's daughter, the one that got blackout drunk and showed her goodies in public. Someone the religious right and family values people can really get behind.

Dammit

But now that it's on my mind, I'd also settle for Kid & Play co-presidency.

This. The horrible people who are enabling Trump are the same ones who enabled the previous (horrible) Republican presidents.

The war criminal who stole at least one election and the dimwit governor who kept a dead woman on a ventilator to satiate a cult?

Yeah, they're human refuse, too.

He climbed on board the Shiathole Express once he decided that would be more politically rewarding. So no, another tongue up Waddles' backside would not be an upgrade.

"It quickly became clear that Bush, who was dressed in a black T-shirt, black mesh shorts, and a black baseball cap that read come and take it(a reference to the Texas Revolution), had not invited me to CrossFit to work out, but to catch the end of his own session."

If I didn't already know what a douche he was, I know now.

CNN sure has done a great time giving the Bush family a hagiographic beej. I can almost see it happening.

Just a reminder. The Iraq war is worse than all the damage trump has done, or likely will do.

Otoh, he probably would have invaded Iraq too.

Ugh, do not make me defend Texas here:
It's actually from the battle of Gonzales (Gonzales is little pissant Texas town in the middle of nowhere, but I digress).
The Mexicans had given Gonzales a canon for protection.  When Mexico went to war with Texas a few years later, Mexico wanted their canon back. Texas told Mexico to EABOD and Mexico sent a bunch of soldiers to get it back.  Texas called in for support and...

As Moore returned to camp, the Texians raised a homemade white banner with an image of the cannon painted in black in the center, over the words "Come and Take It". The makeshift flag evoked the American Revolutionary-era slogan "Don't tread on me". Texians then fired their cannon at the Mexican camp. Realizing that he was outnumbered and outgunned, Castañeda led his troops back to San Antonio de Béxar. The troops were gone before the Texians finished reloading. In his report to Ugartechea, Castañeda wrote "since the orders from your Lordship were for me to withdraw without compromising the honor of Mexican arms, I did so".

That says less about P. Bush than it says about how low Trump and McConnell and all the rest have set the bar

Conspiracy theory time. I sometimes wonder if the Establishment, seeing that the tide was moving toward an outsider, picked Trump knowing what was going to happen. Result being, even Establishment types look fantastic after Trump from here on out.

Think about it, an outsider for quite some time is going to have to overcome the Trump stench. Quite some time.

I say this as someone who went for third parties in the past. The hell I'm doing that now. Mission accomplished?

The name Bush is a dead letter in modern politics. Trump shiatting on Jeb so hard at a time when we all thought we were doomed to a Hillary vs. Jeb race was the first step to making him the hollowed outsider, especially since every other Republican refused to admit that W.'s reign was a disaster.

I've considered that myself. However I think the true deep state (the establishment backed by the wealthiest) would have turned on him immediately following the election. McConnell and friends would have marching orders to reveal the report, discuss impeachment behind closed doors, etc. Pence could take over, feign some ignorance, keep all the grifting going, throw a few billion at immigration camp upgrades, and clean the GOP name in time for 2020.

Or maybe they have, and it's a slower process than I think.

Oh, the rapey one.

Hard pass.

I don't care. I dislike political dynasties. Our government shouldn't be a quasi-hereditary system.

I don't want any more Bushes, Clintons, Kennedys, etc..

If he's going to have even a 0.0001% chance of earning my vote though he's going to have to run as a Democrat.

I'm a never trumper, but he hasn't gotten us into a needless war in the Mideast.  I know.   He hasn't yet.

I still haven't forgotten Dubyas war.

I mean he'd be a lacky for the Koch Brothers and the Heritage Foundation rather than Putin. I guess he has a nicer face for it and can speak English better.  He's still an asshole.
