FTA: Five of the six Obama/Trump voters would pick Obama if he could run again in 2020. Among the reasons: Obama is "more of a diplomatic person," as one participant put it; another said he's "more intellectual."

So, Ohio swing voters tried having a moron govern, and are now realizing that this may have been a bad plan?

But conservatives told me that being intelligent was a bad thing, though.

I'll just leave this here:

Christopher DiRando, a 24-year-old high school teacher who voted for Trump, is not planning on doing the same in 2020. "I will definitely not vote for Bernie Sanders, Elizabeth Warren; I just want to see a level-headed, competent person."

Note that the rest of the article makes it clear that the Trump voters surveyed all voted for Obama in 2012.  Also note that winning these sorts of swing voters in swing states like Ohio pretty much determines who wins the Presidency.

They crave Obama, do they?

I mean, I'm sure there are lonely people in rural Ohio in dire need of Obama rule 34, but this is not subby's personal erotica site.

He must watch a loooot of Fox News if he thinks Elizabeth Warren is neither level-headed nor incompetent.

And fark this guy in the ear with an ant-covered dildo. He's too ignorant to realize we're in Gilded Age II and he implies that those saying 'hey, maybe we shouldn't let the rich have everything at the expense of everyone including high school teachers' are inept and crazy.

Lynn Savial, a retired librarian who voted Republican for 45 years until she went for Clinton in 2016, said Trump "has been much worse than I thought."

THAT is the most interesting one for  me. This woman voted (R) forever, yet changed for 2016, which is refreshing after all of the "Well, sure I voted for Trump, but I didn't know how much of a dick he really was." Republicans we see here all of the time. This woman recognized it, changed her voting practices for the first time, and can actually probably sleep soundly at night because of it.

I hate that the future of our democracy is determined by the whims of people who could vote for Trump after voting for Obama. It's like we're trying to convince a roomful of cats not to push the button that destroys the world. Are they listening to us? Do they understand what's at stake? Who knows! Why are even they in charge of the goddamn button? Just a quirk of geography!

JUAN BAHAMA 2020!

2019-04-15 12:32:58 PM
For all the "Reagan could have served six terms OMG!!!" rationalizations for term limits, so could have Obama.

A stable, comparatively unified United States with a shrinking deficit, and not ruled from Moscow, could be contemplating Obama's fourth term now. But f*cking term limits made sure that didn't happen.

Whether it's the Electoral College, the Senate, the filibuster, or term limits, every impediment to a functioning, democratic government has made this country worse, not better.

Juan Bahama 2020!

When you don't particularly like either candidate, you vote for.the intelligent, even-tempered one. Hillary was both of these things. For some reason voters decided that a hotheaded brat was the better answer.

Personal politics should be put aside when making a choice between a spoiled, hapless child and a smart person who might actually work for your interests. Crazy idea, I know.

If you don't want this attitude to be an immediate disqualifier for any candidate left of Biden, then you need to get the trucks rolling NOW to campaign against the lies in these states.

And because the only way to be a "swing voter" today is to be mind bogglingly unaware of anything outside of one's immediate field of view to an extent that a rock buried at the center of Half Dome would be like "God damn even *I* saw that coming and I'm buried under a mile of solid granite, what the hell?"

It took the most utterly blatantly irresponsible media coverage we've seen of anything in 100 years AND Russia's finger on the scale AND blatant GOP voter suppression efforts AND the electoral college AND four decades of Reich Wing hate propaganda aimed at Hillary for Trump end up as the post turtle he is.

What I'm saying is, a ham sandwich will win against him in 2020 (unless he does us a favor and has a stroke).

That only helps with the presidency.

Without a senate to match, any president is severely limited, and you'll have to deal with the derp somewhere. In many places, actually.
