Who the hell names their kid see on? After some little whiny jackass who gets his dick cut off?

Is that what we want for our children?

We are much smarter. We named our first born son after a Vulcan. And a successful Vulcan at that.

Now if only he becomes an ambassador...

We took our kids to Smithsonian one day. See that Australopithecus, Lucy?  We named you after her. A frown the size of Texas.

If you're gonna do something dumb and name your kid after something pop culture related at least have the grace to spell it correctly for farks sake.

I loved how Lucy was named after the archeological team was celebrating that evening smoking weed and were listening to the Beatles on the radio.

When I was kid, all that the books would say was that the named it after Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds.

Sadly, one of my favorite blogs about Bad Baby Names has not been updated in years.

Boys
Milo
Jasper
Atticus

/I really wish people would stop with "Logan"... It's way overused.
//However, there are more X-Men/New Mutants in this list than GoT characters.

I first noticed it when Sheena Easton was on Miami Vice as "Caitlin" and that became the Aiden/Jayden/Cayden/Braden of its day. "Ooooooh, we're celebrating the Irish 1/32nd of our heritage. So soulful and authentic."

Yeah, no, you're celebrating that you're impressionable and watch too much TV.

These are the first few spellings I could tolerate

Wow. There are 4 names on the boys list that we considered for my son in 2012. The one we chose was not on the list.

I have no idea what influences the names since we didn't even KNOW anyone with any of those names

Even fictional GOT characters have enough awareness to appreciate the value of naming their progeny after family members.  Of course the GOT characters know the baby daddy's name

Cool story time.  Miami Vice used my house for some of the Sheena Easton episodes.  They parked her RV in the front drive.  I had a perfect window into her changing room

I remember when I first heard of girls actually being named Rhiannon. I'm thinking you cannot be serious.

But then my parents came from families with names like Edith, Evelyn, Horace, Alva.

I'm just grateful for one of the most common male names in all of western civilization.
