So, in Australia. . .a McDonalds burger costs $1, but customizing it at an automated kiosk reduces the cost by $1.10.

Pretty safe to say this was due to a lack of good testing of the kiosks and they'll patch this real quick, if they haven't already.

Also, as they try to automate fast food more and more, and remove the human element, you'll get more of this.

Pretty much any human McDonalds employee would look at an order for 10 hamburgers, hold the burger patty and 1 burger, and the register says it's free, would think something's up and maybe call a Manager.

Just pay for a farking burger. It costs $1. Your time inputting all the bullshiat to get one free is not worth it.

It's not wasted if you throw it at the wildlife to distract it so you can get away.

Also, calling it 'food' - with or without the 'meat' - is really a stretch.

Not the employees I see there.  Also it would take a lot of people doing this for the loss to make up for the savings in labor by not having humans take the order.

On the other hand let's talk about the germs found on those screens..... wait let's not talk about that....

I doubt it. When I order a burger with no pickles and no onions, they look at the screen like it's written in Klingon. Somehow I can handle this mind boggling procedure on my phone without any trouble.

Also, your kids are now property of Australian McDonald's kiosk.
