Stories like this are stealth marketing for the gambling industry. "Look, bookies lost big this time, which means you too could have a huge payout if things happen to fall your way! Sure, the odds aren't incredibly stacked in the house's favor, but...look at how much money we lost this one time out of millions of other times!"

His line on Weds was around 12:1 depending on the book you checked.  I remember the favorite was 9:1.  He was something like the 4th lowest odds.

I have heard the 'Man wins $1.2m on Tiger Woods win' on a bunch of different channels and radio. It was an $85,000 bet at 14-1 odds. It's not some crazy long-shot, don't get why it's getting played up so much. Maybe I'm nieve but I can't believe EVERYONE is in on helping market gambling.
