Or he's just showing his 'base' that he's a cruel piece of shiat, like they are, so they should let him keep hurting people.

fusillade762: That and his tax returns.

And the fact that he's actively breaking the law about his tax returns.

"Our goal is to respond as quick as we can; given the length of the report, it may take some time to respond," Jay Sekulow, Trump's personal lawyer, told the Times. "But we have a plan in place to respond in a professional manner as quickly and appropriately as possible."

If they haven't already seen it I'll eat a MAGA hat!

You just know that if there has ever been a private conversation between Barr and Trump, at least one of them recorded it.

They are going to need something much bigger to distract from the Mueller report. It is going to eat the news cycle for at LEAST a solid week until his tax returns are released to Congress.

Everything from what's redacted to what's hinted at, to what their response is...they are going to need something big unless it doesn't actually paint them as bad as everyone (including rapepublicans) believe it will.

Regardless of what is in the report, his taxes will either hit Congress the following week or the case will head to court which will eat up more negative press for the whole admin and rapepublicans.

Dotard isn't smart enough to cause distractions and he just keeps blurting out the insane thoughts in his dementia brain, but some of those around him are at least halfway bright enough to cause a distraction. We should start bets on what it is:

1. CBP violence (either against them or against immigrants)
2. Foreign dust up with Middle East group
3. Some sort of press conference about their investigations into the investigators
4. ????

Unless he's stupider than any of Trump's old lawyers, yeah.  Donnie's word is worthless, and he lies about absolutely everything.

Let's clue him in on how to respond professionally:

Follow the law, and release the unredacted report to the committee. Now.

The dems should be flinging subpoenas left and right for the next 2 years. Keep Trump busy so he can't do anything else.

according to several reports the WH legal team has already prepared a 200 pg response to it.
How did they get it before congress?

I live in Los Angeles, Donnie - and I invite you to keep them coming.
There's a reason we are one of the richest cities in the world, and that all the states and cites that vote for your fat ass are poor.
These hardworking, industrious new citizens are the greatest asset you can gift us with.
Let's see if there are enough angry white votes in the failing red states to keep your fat ass afloat.

They already know what crimes were committed so they can simply start from there. Write a response based on everything they've done, and when the report is released they can go through and edit out the stuff they weren't caught doing.

He must be a source of great frustration to cartoonists and caricaturists.
How do you make this guy look as ridiculous as he actually is?

If by "Mueller Report" you mean the heavily redacted Barr Edition of the Mueller Report, then yes.

I wouldn't get your hopes up, I'm sure Barr censored it all to hell and was careful to remove anything that could potentially incriminate the POTUS.

The fact he refuses to provide an unredacted copy to Congress tells me that his version of the report will be as much of a whitewash as his letter was.

Last Tuesday Barr told Congress that he plans to have an edited copy of Mueller's Report that leaves out:

- Grand Jury materials
- Information from ongoing cases
- Information he feels falls under executive privilege
- Information that is embarrassing/implicates uncharged individuals in crimes against DOJ policy

Congressional Democrats have said that is insufficient, but theoretically this is all they are getting today or tomorrow.

Grungehamster: They've already come up with a genius response: claim that the Barr letter is the REAL Mueller report, and the edited report Barr said he would release this week is a partisan fiction seeking to undermine the real report's findings of complete exoneration.

It's so crazy and stupid, it just might absolutely will work.

Trump RT'd twice today about the Mueller Report. Sure is a strange strategy for someone trying to distract from it.

I mean, does anyone dispute that one of those documents is likely a good faith attempt to convey to the reader the extent to which the Trump campaign is implicated in the actions of the Russian government to attempt to influence the 2016 election and if the Trump administration attempted to obstruct the investigation into these potential efforts while the other document is an attempt to obfuscate the issue by putting out a partisan spin that seeks to bias the reader to a certain conclusion?

Now that we agree, it's as simple as saying that Barr's letter is the former and Mueller's report is the latter. Simple, huh?

Yup. DC is loudly and proudly a liberal, progressive city. Immigrants are welcomed.

Except for Two Scoops and his ilk. They can slime back to wherever they came from.

The retweets appear to be of Kim Strassel claiming that the Mueller Investigation is over, Republicans won thanks to the efforts of Barr to "restore accountability" because the investigation had run amok, and now Democrats need to stop asking for the report.

Followed by him tweeting this:

He may not be covering his concern well, but he is leaning heavily into "the report is not to be trusted; you have the Barr letter that fully resolves the issue except for the need to arrest my critics."

No one has ever accused Trump of genius. Or even of being smarter than a potato.

No one said he was smart but he tells it like it is and by that we don't mean the constant lying - we mean the part where he blames brown people for all America's problems.
