"7. IT BRINGS YOU BACK TO YOUR GLORY DAYS"

If your glory days involve binge drinking, then you've missed out on a lot of shiat. That article has to be satire.

This reminds me of how some morbidly obese people describe their lifestyle as healthy.

#9. IT'S PROBABLY AS SOCIAL AS YOU'RE EVER GOING TO GET

Once the booze starts flowing, so does the conversation. Sure, you may be word vomiting all over the place, but at least it's better than not being social at all!

The whole point of the vintage tag, as I understand it, was to be able to post interesting things we might have missed when they first hit the interwebs without all the whining. Maybe just avoid anything with this tag if that doesn't interest you.

I've been on one all weekend. Friday night was two MD 20/20 and a Venom (blue and yellow, so they combine to look like absinthe and kick like coke), yesterday was four Steel Reserve tall-boys.. oh yeah, and Thursday night (my Friday, essentially) was a sour grape Four Loko and two Hurricane tall-boys.

Tonight, I let my liver recover... oh, and I cannot recommend kimchi and eggs enough for a hangover.. or even better, a Mexican Coke.

But yeah.. played lots of video games, enjoyed the hell out of my PSX, my Genesis, Castlevania III on the NES with an Advantage joystick (old-school tank design)... Oh yeah, and got my Sega CD fixed, so I can swoop that up and a copy of Silpheed, probably.

GREAT weekend.. but moderation is definitely key. Moderation, hydration and electrolytes & starches.

Look up darksynth/synthwave on Youtube; I recommend Odysseus. It goes perfectly with old-school gaming, especially if you have some black lights, lava lamps, those electrical globes or the like.

I've read on fark that Pedialyte Freezer Pops and/or gatorade work well for newbies.  Gin and tonic for the pro here..

Will confirm the Pedialyte thing, though not personally. There's a shelf of it at the PX, and it's a small Reserve training post. We all know it's there for those of us who got wasted on drill weekend and need to be less hung over for first formation. One of our dudes was sipping some during a training class today, and yes, some of us partied last night. :D
