Sainz the senior (one of my fav drivers ever-yes im old) must've used it all up

Side note. Give NASCAR all the shiat you want about empty grandatands (which i do) there are some seriously empty stands there today.

Other than Kvyat hitting both McLarens, you have missed nothing.

Road courses can be a little trickier to gauge attendance given the population is spread throughout a couple miles around the circuit.  Still the stands do look sparse.

Hey LeClerc, Vettel was actually faster than you by a sec.

Now Vettel gets a chance to see if he can reduce the gap on the Mercedes.  Of course it means nothing if Ferrari has the reliability issues.

I think those are normally covered for the Formula 1 race.  The main grandstand is pretty populated (few gaps here and there.  Other sections of the track have crowds

fark, clean air makes such a difference. HAM getting 1+ sec a lap on his teammate

Someone mentioned that the Ferrari exhaust smells like pomelo, maybe they're using a fuel additive that gives them extra juice, but at the cost of reliability

Fair enough. Not trying to put it down in any way, just been paying more attn to it in all races lately.

The fuel is pretty stock as the regulations really clamped down on the exotics materials that we used to see.

Went out for dinner tonight, and caught the end of monster cup at Richmond, damn the stands were empty.  I know, not the signature class, but still, richmond.

Uh, that is a revolutionary concept, let them sort it out on the track.  Of course that may ruin their precious engineers strategies.

Yea, last week at bristol (from East Tn) really drove this home - i can see nobody showing up at kansas or wherever - but bristol at just over 60% has me shook.
I want full stands at every race, (including kansas) whatever the series. Successful motorsports is good for us all.

That *was* the top class tonight.

It's gotten that bad.

Vettel sure didn't leave Max much room.  They say he was entitled to the line, but it sure seemed like he didn't give him a lane and forced him off the track.  Nice to see them work through that and now end in tears and smashed carbon fiber.

2019-04-14 02:49:36 AM
Vettel fast on hards.

Leclerc should have known what he was getting into.  Vettel gets everything and the only way to get favortism is potentially if you are out front.

It must be in Vettel's contract for his team to choose a shiatty strategy for his teammate if they get too uppity.

So pessimistic.  Not even half way so a long way to go and who knows if there is a safety car or something to shake it up.  LeClerc is still in it.

I don't think LeClerc should be too worried, it's only a matter of time before Seb shoots himself in the foot.

2019-04-14 03:10:57 AM
LeClerc does seem to be pulling closer to Max.
