He's actually 2 for 3 on the day as I post this, making his average for the season .056,

they're doing a terrible job of tanking.   Like the Mets, they can't even lose properly.

- Mr. Davis has been up to bat 33 times so far in 2019 without a "hit."

- This "hit" resulted in two fellow baseball bros reaching home plate, thus scoring one "run" or point each.

- I'll leave the 60+ number alone for someone whose knowledge exceeds my own, very limited, knowledge.

- Local residents like local team.

Better now, or does mama need to cosset you further?  :)

Jesus Christ, Red Sox. We were all in agreement that he gets to 0-69 and it ends there.

A blind squirrel would've died of starvation in the time it took Davis to get his hit.

I've like Chris Davis since he was a Ranger.  Always has been a feast or famine type hitter.  Looks like the famine is finally over.  Hope he can keep the ship righted.  Either way, he has made millions for his ability to hit the ball a long way.  If he washes out now he can retire to a comfortable life.

I thought the guy must be a pitcher, so no big whoop.

But that's not so, is it?

And this is why I think Dana LeVangie, a minor league catcher turned pitching coach, obviously has John Henry's pee tape. There is no other explanation for how the hell this man still has a job.

During the early eighties, I once took a visitor from the Middle East to a baseball game. When my mother found out that *I* would be the one explaining the game, she nearly stroked out laughing!  XD

Give credit to Davis' agent.  The Orioles will be paying him until 2037!  Yes 18 years from now, Davis will get his last payment from the Orioles of 1.4 million.  The O's are pretty much stuck.  And if you are tanking to rebuild, what better to have then a 1b man hitting under .200.  Again, Chris seems like a good guy and he is super strong.  However, he seems to have hit a mental hurdle that he can not get over.  He has the physical tools to be a guy to hit 35+ homers a year, but something is very wrong with him in the mental side of the game.

Dave's friend Angus was visiting from Scotland. Dave decided to treat Angus to a baseball game.

The first batter up draws a walk, and as he's slowly ambling down to first base, Angus stands up and yells, "RUN YA LAZY BASTARD!!!"

Dave pulls his friend back into his seat and explains, "No, he got four balls, so that's a walk."

Angus considers this for a moment, then stands back up and shouts at the top of his lungs, "WALK WITH PRIDE, LADDIE!! WALK WITH PRIDE!!"

He had a bunch of chances to do what he's paid a stupid amount of money to do. He didn't do it yet. It has literally never been this bad for someone getting paid to do his job. He finally did his job, a little, and people are happy for him.

And for nearly all of that time, he doesn't need to do a thing for them.
