I'll take the Knicks over the Warriors in five games.  The Warriors have looked good all season but New York Knicks Basketball™ is a registered trademark of The Madison Square Garden Company™ and brings all my favorite Knicks™ intellectual properties to the floor.

Look at the way Mario Hezonja™ dribbled the basketball.  Is he even human?

Go Raptors!

Hope you're back for the next round, appendix free OG.

Meh. I'll check back in three weeks and see where we're at.  B-ball playoffs are agonizingly long.

Haha... if anything, they'll likely be expanding to Seattle and either Nashville or Louisville eventually to get to 32 teams.

Although your comment does bring another issue, which is the league organizations (esp NBA & MLB) really "pushing/rooting" for their "marquee" teams to do well for TV ratings purposes, to the extent that it is really offensive to other markets fans.

All you'll hear about if we get close to it happening is if we get a Milwaukee/OKC final of how "awful" that will be for ratings, vs. GS or Houston or Philly or Boston.

If you are going to get your panties in a bunch any time a team that isn't in the Top 15 TV markets makes the finals, just trim your damn leagues down to 12 teams then... otherwise, STFU.

3 weeks? They might be on game 5 of the first round by then.

Yeah. And I like the NBA but man, the playoffs are farking brutal.

Which is a stupid way of looking at it since it's a star league and not a regional league. With MLB I understand the large-market bias more.

Yeah, OKC getting to the NBA finals would be great for the networks, because they'd just shine the spotlight directly on Westbrook.  Market size doesn't matter in the NBA as much.

Knowing Westbrook, he'll flip the spotlight off and threaten it's mother.

/I'd watch that

Ahhh... yeah, that is true.

IMO, considering that unlike the NHL, you rarely have any seed under #3 make it even to the Conference finals, let alone the NBA finals, I'd rather see them replace the first round of playoffs with a "tournament" style bracket for the 4th seed:

First Round, 1 game:
11 @ 4
10 @ 5
9 @ 6
8 @ 7
Second Round and third rounds, best of 3, winner gets the 4th seed.

Would take up about the same number of time as the first round... and be much more interesting IMO than a bunch of matchups that generally don't produce much drama.

Nets up by 9 after 1... Philly can't buy a 3.

It's nice outside so I'm gonna take the kids out. Only game that looks interesting to me is Spurs-Nuggs in five hours.

Between basketball and hockey, I have four local teams. And the only one to make the playoffs is ... the Clippers.

It's been a dismal winter and spring for sports in LA. Dodgers lose to Boston. Rams lose to Patriots. Kings, Ducks and Lakers lose to everybody, and the Clippers are walking into a first-round buzzsaw that will see them lucky to win a single game.

Woo.

Hoo.

Bring on the playoffs. I'm overjoyed.

To paraphrase the Spurs broadcast crew... Yeah, Golden State is probably going to win their first round matchup. For the rest of the West, if I told you either team won the series in 6, would you really be surprised?

Van Gundy is an idiot. Can't believe him and Mark Jackson are ESPN/ ABC's A team. Mike Breen is wasted on those two.

BANG!

Lou Williams should be getting five points per bucket on these plays where he's just singlehandedly taking it to the defense in a way where plenty of people COULD stop him but he doesn't let 'em.

Shoutout to the refs always lookin' to get the Warriors a few extra points that they don't need.

If you would've watched the game from the start, you would've seen Draymond Green get hacked with no call. Refs aren't showing favorites.

I saw Draymond Green crying a lot after he didn't get a call he didn't deserve.

Doesn't matter, Warriors will win by 20+ regardless. Just wish they'd stop getting help. They play the softest offense in the league. Let people start contacting jumpshooters the way they're allowed to contact everyone in the lane.

Then you saw the ref take it from Green because it should've been a foul.

Rivers lost his composure early, then the rest the team followed suit. Game over. It's one thing to lose your shiat with a veteran team, but the Clips aren't a veteran team. I want to like Rivers, but he keeps giving me reasons not to like him.
