That's too bad.  I kind of wanted to read that.  I did not want to read it enough to disable my ad blocker though.

PBR, to celebrate its birthday, is going to release a 6.5% beer in a black can!
and a NA version.

then, rather than show a pic of the PBRs being released, they posted pics of other beers.

PBR is not even close to the pissiest beer in the US.

Pbr has a taste. Not a good one, but a taste none the less.

Last time I drank some Pabst Blue Ribbon back in the late 80's or so, it gave me a severe case of the "trots". Never drank it again.

it's a beer you have to drink quickly, while it's cold and has no taste.
otherwise it tastes like bread.

This. Michelob Ultra is just carbonated water.

Last time I drank PBR they were still stamping the 21 and over crowd one color and character and the 18-to not 21 crowd another color/character at the club I went to back in the day.  Good times.

/to tell who got the "hi power beer"/hard liquor or who got the weak under 3.2 beer.

PBR is not bad.  I used to buy it in Hong Kong because It was the only American beer that was sold at the ParknShop (supermarket) and I found this funny.  This was before it was popular with the hipsters, so I guess I was sort of being a hipster before the hipsters, or something.  The standard cheap beer in HK is San Miguel if anyone cares.

Not really all that surprising. There's a Pabst brewery in China.

Weird.  They are marketing it as an upscale premium brand on the mainland and it goes for about $44 a bottle.  I definitely was not paying that much in Hong Kong as I am not a moron.

China PBR

Ugh, I never had PBR but Bud Dry was like that.

So, DAB and Faxe will have some American competition now?

The licensed Pabst brewed in China is different than what I was drinking in Hong Kong.  What I had was the imported stuff, all Milwaukee.  ParknShop lists it as HK $69.90 (about US $9.00) for a twelve pack today.  I have no idea what the licensed stuff in mainland is trying to pull (other than a scam).  When I was in Hong Kong it was about the price of San Miguel so I figured why not as people do not really drink this in America any more.  When in mainland China the go to cheap beer was Tsingtao which was cheaper than bottled water.  Beer was cheap in both the mainland and the SEZ of Hong Kong.  Hard liquor not so much.

And I officially just spent way too much time figuring out what exactly I was drinking about two decades ago in China.

ParknShop current price for a 12 pack

I clicked the "Continue without supporting" link at the bottom of the "MANDATORY" pop-up and went right in.

And I'll take a PBR over any of the thousands of over hopped IPAs that are being produced now.

If you're just out on the town for a buzz and cost is the biggest consideration, PBR's an OK option for washing back cheap bourbon.  There's a bunch of bars here in Columbus, OH that have a "Two wheel special"; show up on a bicycle, and it's $3.00 for a draft pint PBR and shot of Old Crow.
