(Washington Post)   So...now that Assange has been arrested, should American journalists be worried about a future possible legal ruling being used against them? Trump wouldn't do something like that, right? Right? I mean they get along so well   (washingtonpost.com) divider line

Is CNN actively conspiring to hack computers?  Short answer is no.  Long answer is still no.

He's in hiding to skip out on a sexual assault charge. He was arrested today for skipping out on bail. He's being charged for the criminal acts that took place to get the information he eventually published.

Yes, yes... but... concern. Such concern. It's very concerning.

Assange wasn't a journalist, he was a funnel for hostile foreign agitprop.

How 'bout you don't rape people. Don't commit hacking crimes. Don't have an asshole cat. Don't skateboard in the hallways of your hosts' house. And don't steal WifI?

That doesn't seem that hard.

Especially the not raping people part.

yeah. big difference.

I admit, at first I was taken in and viewed him as a kind of hero. But the "both sides" leaks NEVER CAME.

and hacking is wrong. It's called spying, and he did it for Russia, and Russia is pissed at him too, so he should be grateful he was gotten when he was.

but he isn't of course.

Roger Stone..you are next. And you will not know when that is coming, either. But it will come soon.

Guys, subby does have a point you're all missing -- if you publish anything ever including on the internet, you're a journalist and everything you do is okay because of the first amendment.

Not entirely true.
Because of "anti-boycott Israel law", it is illegal in the US to advocate any boycott of Israel.
Your 1st Amendment infringed... because of freedom.

Loyalty is a one-way street with Trump. People who keep their end of a deal with Trump quickly learn that he never keeps his, unless you're a central Asian gangster able and willing to have him murdered.

Assange is not a central Asian gangster. Assange is going down.

Oops, read the date of the paper at the top.

Still Applies though.

The Russians were supplying Farc with weapons via Ecuador and letting Farc camp out there.

Colombia asked Ecuador to hand them over.  Ecuador said they had no idea what Colombia was talking about.

So Colombia said fark it, crossed the border and whacked the Farc.

Chavez and Correa were working together to destabilize Colombia, which had been pulling itself off by it's bootstraps.

A laptop retrieved showed Chavez and Correas talks with Farc and the Ruskis.

Putin wants to destabilize the region and hates the Colombia has been becoming stable.

I have done some research.  He engaged in sexual activity with another person which that person did not consent to.

Sex without consent is rape.

Also, the bullshiat conspiracy theory that the rape charges were a bogus excuse to extradite him to the US is laughable.  If the US wanted him from the UK, they'd either take him or be given him; they wouldn't go through Sweden first.

No, see, what happened is that Assange raped a woman, and then, when the prospect of him facing justice appeared, he ran and hid and spun a story about being persecuted by that awful Obama trying to kidnap him.

And since the Republicans are as anti-Obama as they are pro-rape, they of course lapped this up and began retelling it as gospel.
