It's certainly not "early" anymore. It's well advanced, at this point.

I'll say it again:

People who have met pathological liars know he is lying.
People who know narcissists know he only cares about himself.
People who have had to put Grandma in a home know he's in mental decline.

It must be obvious to a CONSIDERABLE number of his supporters that the wheels are coming off.  How much more are they going to take before they can't support him any longer?  Does he have to bring his favorite golf cart into the Oval Office before they'll say "You know, I think he's getting worse..."?

Some are in the same state and are incapable of forming independent thought, and some don't care as long as his hate points the same way as theirs does.

My only hope is that there are enough others who will say "Fark this crazy shiat" to keep him from carrying those swing states in 2020.

I don't think the conservatives care if Donny is a senile old bastard with a skull full of mush.  just as long as Donny (or his handlers) say and do all of the things they want said and done.

the part nobody is talking about tho is...ok, assume for a moment Trump really is mentally/emotionally damaged and its getting worse.  why then are the Republicans so firmly in lock step with a man who's brains are turning into swiss cheese?  why is the entire Republican party so willing to fall on their swords for a guy who literally cannot even remember their names, let alone appreciate or reward the people who sacrifice their careers and/or reputations for him?

i'm still stuck on how or even why a bunch of amoral sociopaths that are almost always proud of f*cking over anyone/everyone who gets in their way would be so afraid of Trump.  I mean we can all see there's *something* wrong with Trump.  emotionally unstable, petty, vindictive...slurred speech, mispronounced words, failing memory...either Donny's got one hell of a concussion or he's got something rattling around his attic that's busted loose.  And yet, the GOP don't take advantage of a rambling oddball president who can't remember most of their names even on a good day....?  that's incredibly out of character for them.

They're afraid of him because he can destroy any one of them by going on Twitter and firing off a playground insult or two.

As soon as he does that, their popularity tanks among the GOP faithful, and suddenly the donor money dries up, the volunteers ask to be taken off the mailing lists, primary candidates start lining up, and they start getting phone calls from the RNC asking if they might prefer to get such and such lucrative job instead, because we're looking at the polling, and even if you survive your primary you're going to struggle to turn out enough of our base to beat the Democrat.

To the GOP Trump is like that six year old kid from the Twilight Zone. Their only option is to keep him happy -- or start looking for work elsewhere.

except that imagine that kid was surrounded by facehuggers instead of normal human beings.  apparently trump scares the facehuggers and I'd really like to know why that's the case.

look, here's the thing.  looking at folks like Steve Miller and the bottomless vicious approach that man has to life in general, a guy who'd f*ck over his own family to get ahead in life and thinks everyone else around him is total garbage to be used/abused at his whim...someone like that not only takes orders from trump without question AND isn't trying to take advantage of the old codger for personal gain?

I think we've got it all wrong.  I don't think the people working for Donny are afraid of him at all.  I think they KNOW he's got a brain full of pudding and they're using it to their personal benefit/gain.  its the people NOT directly in control of President pudding pop/jello brains that are afraid of what's gonna happen next.

If it were just him we had to worry about it would be one thing. Then it would be a matter of either hiding it like they did with Ronald Reagan, and Reagan could read well enough to follow a script. Trump can't. Also, Trump is surrounded by scumbags. He surrounded himself with scumbags because those are his people. He might ordinarily have been rendered only a danger to himself by his dementia, but he's got the scumbags running things around him and they have a good thing going. Besides, his ranting and raving incoherently keeps the attention focused on him and not them. They can do a lot of damage while everybody's paying attention to him.

What pisses me off is that if he is demented he'll probably get out of going to a real prison or even being convicted in the first place. Hell, he might not even remember any of the scumbag things he did. I hope he gets put in a really terrible nursing home because his family is like that with their weakest members. As soon as he becomes a drag on them or even an inconvenience, off he goes to the nursing home. Knowing them they won't want to spend money on someone who isn't doing anything useful for them and they'll pick a cheap one.

Ever had a dog? If you hum with the same pitch you use to say something that gets their attention, it'll likely respond just the same. I suspect Trump could recite a nonsensical Markov chain at one of his jerk-off sessions rallies and be met with the exact same cheers and applause. I firmly believe that Trump supporters just don't give a damn.

Why not, if it's appropriate? You speak as if you think the two states are mutually exclusive.
They are not. A person can be a mentally ill, senile, stupid, narcissistic asshole.
All at once - like Trump is.

Why not both... a narcissist racist asshole who later developed mental illness?

The scarier part is that at least a third of the country will support him no matter what. He could show up at the debate naked and drunk, puke all over his lectern in the middle of a "we need to attack Denmark because I have good people... really smart people even though they're not as smart as me... who tell me that there's something rotten there" rant, and they will still vote for him for the simple reason that "we can't let the Democrats win".

once we all finally understand this fact about the trumpers, once we all really 'get it', and consider the full implications of just what it means that the cultists will NEVER stop voting for the most despicable, vile, horrible shiatty people...then we're going to have to decide what to do about it.

Because we cannot have a functional society/culture when a third of our country is going to just block everything/anything we do just because they can.  they'll destroy whatever we try to create, then giggle and say 'f*ck your feelings'.  do that enough times and eventually people just decide murdering trumpers is simply more expedient than kicking them out of office in the next election cycle.

Listen to 1989 Trump, 1999 Trump, 2009 Trump and today Trump.

He was always an egomaniac, narcissist, and mentally borderline-slow. What we're seeing isn't just that Donald has the dumb and can't brain, we're seeing a long, progressive mental decline.

Which happens to be consistent with the timeframe for a certain shrapnel from his "personal Vietnam."

A family history of early onset dementia starting around Trump's current age. The fact that mental decline is accelerated by isolation and stress.

I mean he's definitely all three of asshole, narcissist and dumber'n a bag o'rocks, too...
