That should be worthy of a death sentence, at the least.

The only thing I use food dyes for it when I hard boil eggs.  That way my wife can tell which are which without spinning them.

You can buy a form of Haggis in the US.
It's made in the US, rather than imported, and it doesn't contain lungs.
It isn't very good.

Caviar Spoons
The idea that you shouldn't use metal spoons to eat caviar is a myth. Caviar is stored and sold in metal containers with no adverse effects. Presenting your guests with metal spoons, however, may have a psychological effect, which may cause them to judge the caviar as inferior before they have even tasted it. Traditional caviar spoons, available at most caviar retailers, are made from mother of pearl or bone.

I think it's the "Kinder Joy" eggs that are available in the US legally. I'm not sure of the details, but those pass muster, while the Kinder Surprise eggs are still illegal here.

Kinder Surprise: the toy is inside a chocolate-candy shell. Having the toy inside the edible shell makes it illegal

Kinder Joy: two-piece plastic clamshell, with the toy in one half and the candy in the other. Since the toy and the candy are in separate halves of an inedible container, everything's legal

Me too. To me, it tastes herbal, but with an unpleasant earthy--or muddy--undertone.

There are three things that I can't eat even a bite of, not because I dislike the taste - though I don't particularly like any of them either.  It's just that if I eat any, even a little, then I taste them all.  day.  long...  They all seem to share some aromatic compound or receptor affinity that I'm particularly sensitive to:

- Cilantro
- Truffles
- Goat cheese

Not one bite.  And I live in SoCal, where cilantro is ubiquitous.  I inherited my Nonna's bloodhound nose, and I expect that's where the problem lies.

If it's illegal to have "non-nutritive objects" inside of food, how do King Cakes make the grade?
