Republicans haven't cared about the deficit since Ford...

2019-03-26 07:37:42 AM
And they will again when a Democrat is in office...just like they will care about morality and rule of law once again.

2019-03-26 08:04:26 AM
No, I don't remember that.  I only remember them talking about caring about the deficit.

Republicans only care about the deficit when the president has (D) behind their name.

2019-03-26 08:06:45 AM
This is just their prelude to cutting social programs.  You know they will never cut the defense budget.  They want to run the deficit so high that cuts to social spending will be necessary or they will at least tie the hands of any future Democratic President to prevent the expansion of any social program.

2019-03-26 08:06:54 AM
Nope.

"It can be done. ... It will take place and it will go relatively quickly.  ... If you have the right people, like, in the agencies and the various people that do the balancing ... you can cut the numbers by two pennies and three pennies and balance a budget quickly and have a stronger and better country."

Republicans only care about deficit-spending when the money is being used to help poor people improve themselves. If it helps the rich improve their situation, that's the government doing its job.

2019-03-26 08:13:38 AM
They cared about the deficit when Obama was in office, then the deficit went down so they stopped caring about that and got VERY concerned about the debt.

Kind of like how the GOP cared about Obama's birth certificate until he showed it, then they were very concerned about seeing his college records.

It is just Trump now.

2019-03-26 08:14:57 AM
How can we have a deficit?  Trump said we were getting billions in tariffs right into the Treasury.

I'm starting to doubt his ability to utter facts.

I'm under 50, so...no, I don't remember any time the Republicans weren't anti-american and outright evil

When incurred to give their hard earned money back to the hard working Americans it's justified.

When incurred to give needed services to hard working Americans it's a serious issue.

They're already bemoaning the lack of bipartisanship in Congress. And everyone knows you can't impeach a president for frivolous reasons.

What you fail to understand is how much money the elite people and their families will need to survive climate change. They know and that's why they need to acquire more.

No. I remember all the times they lied about caring because they wanted to attack the Dems over it, though.

they only care about it as a weapon to go after social programs

I heard the libertarian governor dude interviewed who wants to challenge Trump for the nom in 2020 say that the reason Trump pushed the deficit so large is because he's actually been a democrat all his life.

Now that the wasteful Mueller investigation is over, the numbers should start to look better.

Blowing up the deficit will be the reason they cut Medicare, Medicaid, and Social Security later.

I'd like to say that conservatives gutting all these welfare programs creates the opening to universal healthcare and maybe UBI, but no. Americans are too farking stupid. They didn't even vote to protect the stuff that benefits them today.

Carlin was right. They're getting your Social Security. They're taking it all.

/Go fark yourselves, baby boomers.

Their entire game plan is drive up deficits then b*tch about them when the next Democrat administration comes along. They've been doing this sh*t for decades.

I'm really looking forward to old people dying off, they are destroying this country.

USA borrowed more money to cover 1 month of expenses than 49th country by yearly GDP brought in all year.

I am sure that's a wise way of running a successful country. Just look at the booming economy and rebuilt military. /s

That's going to be the way to challenge Trump in 2020, btw. Get the farker on his heels and make him deny shiat for a change.

Nope. But they did care about keeping that sweet, sweet money flowing into their pockets and into the pockets of the predator class.

They also cared deeply about Democrats in office. And it made a great bludgeon to beat them with.

Remember the last time the Feds had a surplus and were paying down the debt? Clinton was president and Republicans were outraged. "The gummint has too much money! That's YOUR MONEY!"

Anybody in the press should be fired on the spot if they parrot the lie that Republicans care about the federal deficits or debt.

What the elites don't understand is that when the economy collapses, that money won't be worth anything because no one will be able to buy what they are selling, a lot of other countries will have problems because of our collapse and won't buy their shiat, and a lot of other countries that we meddled with for decades will just sit back and laugh.  They also don't seem to realize that the guards they hire to guard their bunkers are the mercenary sort that will turn on them when the rations run short.  The cleansing or economic restart or rapture they appear to be striving for is most likely, as history proves over and over again, to be devastating to their class most of all.

Just a small sampling from the #TheresAlwaysATweet pool.

Sep 23, 2011 10:17:21 AM Our deficit spending is China's gain. @BarackObama is bankrupting our country.

Oct 17, 2011 03:52:12 PM Late last Friday @BarackObama announced his 2011 budget deficit was $1.299 trillion -- the second largest in US history.

Nov 8, 2011 03:54:26 PM Our deficits are caused by runaway spending, not inadequate taxing. Washington does not have a revenue problem.

Nov 28, 2011 02:31:52 PM Washington will continue to run record deficits into the election. We are borrowing at a rate of $1.40 from China. Truly unsustainable.

ec 19, 2011 04:25:24 PM With a record deficit and $15 trillion in debt, @BarackObama is spending $4 million of our money on his Hawaii vacation. Just plain wrong.

Feb 1, 2012 01:57:52 PM His spending is reckless: @BarackObama will set a record fourth year of a $1 trillion budget deficit. http://t.co/P71gzhvm

...and so on. There are plenty more.

As always, this was brought to you by http://www.trumptwitterarchive.com/archive
