Look, Fark, I love ya, it's what keeps me coming back but are we really doing "best of"'s from the reddit comments now?

Yeah, sometimes when you consume too much spice you begin to have waking dreams.  It's just simple biology.

A woman walked up to me in the grocery and started talking to me. This went on for around 30 seconds before she realized I wasn't the person she thought. She apologized saying that I looked JUST LIKE this friend of hers. At which point I apologized. Two people who look like me? The universe just shouldn't  ...

On here, someone has a picture of themselves - I assume - when they were around 4 or 5. It looks like me at the same age. It was one of those "welp, that is enough internet for today" moments.

Oh yeah, if you haven't seen it, watch the twilight zone episode "Mirror Image"(daily motion link).
It's what inspired this movie and is pretty unsettling as far as TZ goes.

I'm old enough that it was rare for families to have a camera at home when I was young. The local elementary school allowed anyone to come in on picture day to take advantage of the photographer's services and then drop in eight weeks later to get the photos.

My parents took my brother and I in for photos when I was around two years old and my brother was an infant. They dressed us in matching yellow western-style outfits.
Eight weeks later my dad picked up the photos on his way home from works. My mother told him that he got the wrong photos. My father had a fit. He knew his what his children looked like. Eventually, Mom went to our room and brought out our yellow outfits. The children in the pics Dad brought home were wearing the same outfits, but in blue.
My parents swore the other kids were identical to us.

My little doppelgänger lived in the area until we were in our twenties. We never crossed paths, but I was often mistaken for her.

DLinds:

There was a case here on fark I think where a young woman with a distinctive tattoo was killed in a car crash and the state police came to the family's door to report her death.  Only at some point the young woman called or was contacted and she was alive.

Turned out there was a girl with the same physical appearance, age, and name from the same township who had also gotten the same tattoo.  Freaky.

I have one better. I was offered a job because the 60+ boss lady thought I worked for her 30 years ago and was impressed with how far I'd come. We got to talking. I was still offered the job but I turned it down and then got offered a lower job for more money with the same company. She was lowballing the guy she thought I was!

All those times I spoke to my wife and she just kept walking on by. Now I understand it perfectly, one of us wasn't really there.

I think I saw mine at Great Adventure in the early 1990's. We were both in line for the same roller coaster but far enough apart in line that I'm not sure he saw me. It was like looking in some jacked up mirror. Never saw that dude again and I don't think I want to.

When I got to my first duty station in Germany I was put in a company with another guy who looked just like me. Sure, everyone wore the same clothes, same haircuts and we both wore BC glasses but we really did look the same: height, weight, general build, even similar voices. We even had the same first name and our last names sounded pretty close. Because I was the new guy they started calling me by my nickname just to avoid confusion. He and I became best friends. I knew there'd be no problems because he didn't have a goatee so I was sure he wasn't my evil twin.

I saw the movie....I was not that impressed.  I like the first movie he did, but I knew the "twist" right away.  Too much gore, not enough substance.

Funny reference to Hands Across America which I did with my sister and her husband while stoned out of our minds in the middle of friggin nowhere Ohio.  Waiting for scary people to walk out of the corn rows was scarier than this movie.

My doppelganger is a Hollywood star.  He's no longer starring in a smash hit (still starring on prime time TV though), and we've both changed our hairstyles, so I don't get asked for autographs any more.  Or other requests.  No, sir, I don't want to look at your rash.  First of all, ___ ____ is an actor, not a real doctor, and second of all, I'm not him.

I share a name with somebody else who's somewhat famous (but looks nothing like me).  A few times I've been contacted out of the blue, asking for an interview or a book endorsement or some such.  I'd do it, but they never offer any compensation.
