That's pretty cool but would  be frowned upon here in the States. DOT is pretty picky.

I haven't seen anything like that since I went to the Robot Show in Shinjuku...

Neat stuff. Indians decorate theirs as well.

Neat shiat. I've found myself drinking with Japanese truckers in a few places. Cool guys.

National average is about $20K more than America, and they're essentially driving around a state smaller than California. I could see them having time and resources to do this more than American truck drivers. Also, yea the laws here I could see interfering as well.

Bubba (actual name, I asked) bought 50 lights and some engine-turned letters and people thought he had lost his dad-gummed mind. Shook their heads, told themselves the man had no taste.

He was alright.

No daytime pictures. I bet it's like Las Vegas, looks OK at night, but during the day not so much.

American blinged-up trucks seem to be more geared towards looking good both during the day and at night:

me Grimlock remember this incident.... Optimus got drunk at Maccadam's and woke up next morning with bad hangover and insane body art.

I used to live next to a truck accessory store for these dudes (Truck Stop JET Inoue). Every day there'd be a few of these crazy trucks parked in the lot as their owners shopped, ordered, or fitted new stuff. In addition to the lights and chrome, they often have some wild airbrushed paintings of samurai ghosts, dragons, or other badass fantasy art. In retrospect, I realize I should have taken photos.

Plenty to look at on the webs, but yeah, they don't put a lot of effort into paint art like American truckers.  I've noticed American Truckers start with paint and some chrome before getting outrageous with lights.

Yes, these look pretty cool, but I would think it would be incredibly distracting to other drivers.

Since the article is from 2013 shouldn't it have the 'vintage' tag?

Make a living wage or better.

Well there's your problem right there.  America is a full blown joke anymore.

If I was a professional trucker, I might be bored enough to do this too. It's a way to make your job/vehicle different and interesting so that people are drawn to it and you.

That looks like Trump level of decorative design.  Sleek, nuanced, succinct.

Nothing appears to be gilded. Sh*t, even the Indians aren't that gildy.

Because I want to hear the goddamn chandelier bounce around for a few thousand miles. I bet that would be fun in a collision.

I went to see Excision last night, and would travel a few hours to see Babymetal. I love metal mashups.

Saw some of them in "Black Rain". Crazy.

Well, that is definitely a step up from American truckers who decorate with meth dust and hooker drippings

Are you talking Indians with feathered hair dresses or Indians with painted body henna?

Keep being awesome Japan.

Yeah, no. Don't let a japanese near a truck unless you want it to look like a transformer farked a pinball machine on a pile of carnival lights.

2019-03-25 05:38:05 AM
If it's blinged out to the point where it's not functional as a truck, it's just a large, slow, expensive show car.  And you're not a trucker.

Not new drivers.  It is a job that takes a long time of building reputation to earn good money.  The guys first getting out of trucker school can't afford to pay bills the first 2 years.

Truck yaro! I remember seeing one of these once when I was over there.
