Good luck explaining the Monroe Doctrine to Donnie without using the words "Kennedy," "she's dead," and "no, she's dead"

So...now we WANT to militarily intervene in Venezuela?  Now it's a good thing to play imperialist overlord and dick around in South America's foreign affairs?  Make up your farking minds, the last thread we had on Venezuela everybody was saying that Putin was trying to get Trump to invade/he was going to invade as a distraction from his domestic issues, and now you're saying that it's evidence of his corruption that he isn't!

At least be farking consistent!

Trump mentioned this in 2017 when he mentioned the Monroe doctrine and possibility of military intervention in Venezuela.

In 2019, John Bolton also invoked the Monroe doctrine saying this administration isn't afraid of to use it.

Of course Trump isn't going to do anything but send out a few angry tweets.

It is, however, completely inline with the Trump Doctrine.

Which is, to wit: America does whatever Daddy Putin tells Trump to do

Who said that?

This is our hemisphere. Invade and stabilize. Venezuela is a mess and obviously needs our benevolent guidance until such a time as they are ready to renter the brotherhood of nations.

Rather than build a wall, it's also time to go in and clean up Central America ourselves. Honduras, Guatemala can't govern themselves so we need to do it for them.

It's time for the invasion of the small Caribbean or Latin nation again.

How about doing Grenada again?

By now the US Air Force should be able to find it unless they are using flat-earther maps and theories, like the Italians did in World War II.

Nicaragua has been done to death, I think Belize might still be British, and Panama is too expensive to toy with. Grenada. Invade Grenade. And say hi to the Spanish if you get the chance whilest invading the wrong Grenada.

Hint: There are two Grenadas. One is in Spain. That is in Europe, or possibly Africa.

There might be two grenades, the one your mother jumped on and the one in my hand, but the one in the northern African country of Spain is called Granada.

Well, taking over other countries has always worked out so well for the United States and has never backfired once.

Now it's time for the US to fund a new Contra organization in Guyana, just like they did in Honduras when the Russians did this in Nicaragua. We need a new front for the MIC - in the jungles instead of the desert - so many possibilities for new weapon systems and  camouflage..

I am not worried. I hear the Chinese and the North Koreans have millions and millions of two-man submarines and I am sure that Trump's BFF won't let the Russians get away with anything that Trump would not let the Russians get away with.

Jerseysteve22: Hawaii, the Philippines, Texas, (West)Germany, Japan

Hawaii still resents being made a state and openly yearns for the return of the monarchy, the Philippines came with a massive insurrection we had to quell, Texas joined willingly, and Germany+Japan we bombed into the stone age and rebuilt in our own image.

Hawaii is doing fine and there is no push toward independence
The Philippines were built into a functioning democracy with modern infrastructure
Germany and Japan fit the criteria of being taken over by the U.S.

100 troops ain't enough to stop America from funding rebels and overthrowing Venezuela.

I don't really have a horse in this fight, but I think if a people really wants democracy then they have to fight their own battle. Maybe a few foreign advisors and some foreign material support, but no full scale invasion.

Otherwise it's like handing a new sports car to a 16 year old. They'll just wreck it.
