Could'a been worse.

Could'a been the all-girl musical version of "Supernatural"?

With Robots and Aliens.

"In one scene, smoke blows across the bottom of the stage and spine-chilling sounds boom from above, when suddenly an unseen force grabs the lone astronaut on stage." Um no, it even says in the Tweet that it is the facehugger alien scene.

My school only had the budget to do Planet of the Vampires.

The hardest point is doing the dialogue in Italian, with a narrator overdubbing you in English.

Please tell me that the Chestburster scene includes the line, "Oh no, not again!" and a showtune dance routine.

Heathers?

That would be awesome, but hard to believe that would fly in today's climate.

Assuming you really haven't seen it, it was the show's 200th episode.  Season 10 episode 5, "Fan Fiction".  Knock yerself out.

For my money, much of the production was cringeworthy.  But the girls' rendition of 'Carry On Wayward Son' raises the hairs on the back of my neck and brings a lump in my throat and a tear to my eye.

Our high school play was M*A*S*H.  I was Colonel Blake.  We had to re-write a bunch of the script, since suicide was a "no-go" topic ... and most of the innuendo/double entendre lines were nixed by faculty, as well.  -_-

It was still fun ... but I don't think our HS drama group would've picked it, if we'd known in advance how much of it we'd have to change.

Drama teacher Perfecto Cuervo
wow. Next production will be Tequila Mockingbird.

Damn! Brave choice, but how much were you allowed to leave in?

Hawkeye calling the transport Sgt a racist?
Passing a Playboy to Ho-jon?
Training Ho-jon to serve cocktails?
Spurting arterial wound?
Hotlips' shower scene?
The "painless Pole" shower-peeking scene?
The "suicide-is-painless" scene, what with all the "hawkeye-convinces-Lt-Dish-to-sleep-with-the-painless-pole-to-save-him" scenes?
The "dose-Ho-jon-with-drugs-to-help-him-avoid-the-draft" scene?
The "visit Tokyo to perform surgery on the congressman's son and make lots of racist comments and jokes" scene?
Or maybe, the "tackle-opposing-team-player-and-inject-him-with-drugs-to-put-him-out-of-the-game" scene?

Any of those?

I love that movie, but I can't see how much of it would make it to a high-school performance.

I filmed a high-school performance of "Fame" back in 2012 - they weren't allowed to show the main female character's descent and death - it was limited to an off-stage ambulance siren sound. Pansies. The main actors would have been up to it - they were all 15-17 at the time - but I think it was constrained by the fact that the local state politician's younger daughter was in the chorus line - and guess what side of the political spectrum he was?

You wouldn't happen to be WestPo in Alexandria, VA would you?

That's my local HS (my kids aren't there yet) and I'm pretty sure they've done all of those plus "School of Rock"

2019-03-24 07:03:01 PM
But did the kids understand that the movie is all about sex?

Man being raped and violently giving birth; alien with a phallic head; android trying to rape Ripley with a rolled up magazine, etc.
