Remember that Chinese doctor that claimed he was able to clone a human being and not too soon after the announcement he disappeared courtesy of the Chinese government?

So have they solved the issue of cloned animals generally being less healthy than their originals?

Since they use those dogs for their noses, might as well just clone and use her:

Knowing what I know about Japan, I'm not certain I want the sauce for that.

Sauce.

Cloned police dogs with the same genetic makeup and weaknesses. If they mass produce these I can see this going as well as their one/two child policy they had where they're now short on women supposedly. In the dogs case, the animal could get the sniffles and the entire line goes kaput.

Dog breeds have almost no genetic diversity as it is, but I'm not sure if it's a bad idea overall.

It's from a Japanese series about a police woman who has an enhanced sense of smell, like a police dog, and she likes to dress in the Lolita style of clothes, the series and manga it's based on is called Deka Wanko.

Even if you get ideal outcomes, it's still a huge waste of resources.  Much cheaper and easier to just breed a litter of smart/loyal animals and train them well.  And you get the benefit of a possible beneficial cross which is not the case with cloning.

Last I heard about animal cloning (which was probably 20+ years ago), there was an issue with the offspring having the "genetic age" of the animal being cloned, so issues/diseases hit the animals much faster. Is that no longer an issue? Was it ever an issue?

I will always defend fake throwing, pretty much animal I've ever had figures it out quick and just looks at me "I'll wait till you actually throw it, asshole".  I mean, I'm still playing and getting exercise with the animal. I will especially do it with my cats since they love to chase but not bring it back to me.

I heard there was an issue with clones being stupider with every generation.

When I see that, I make my own sauce.

/similar to mayo, but more tangy. Really good on toast.
