(CNBC)   Mississippi ranked as the least innovative state. Apparently if the people there were more innovative, they would have found a way by now to get out of Mississippi   (cnbc.com) divider line

Mississippi is the Maxwell's demon of cleverness

See, ya think yet funny...

CSB -

Once represented an older black guy who worked at a GM plant. He was illiterate because he grew up in a share-cropping Mississippi family with no black schools around.

Ended up in STL because he had the guts to hop a train eventually going North in the late 40s. The white land owners didn't like you to leave without their permission back then.  'Boys' needed to 'know their place.'

And if they were twice as clever, their plan would have been "rename it to Alabama"

Look, I grew up in Bama.

We did not have much to be proud of, except Tide Football.

But we took pride that at least we were not Mississippi.

And that was important. Don't try to take it away!

Well let's see it's the birthplace of the Blues and they're one of only what three states that require immunization for children to be able to go to school? And they're not in the farking Frozen North? Such a pretty good to me

It was barely close to that in the 40s and its nothing like that now but then that wouldnt fit that stereotype

Fark is so pathetic and predictable now.

Grew up in Louisiana, trained/worked in MS. About 30 years total. Every stereotype is true. You want to talk about shiathole countries? Start there.

People in the Pacific northwest have straight up told me they doubt qualifications for my job due to my accent. I don't blame them honestly.

Guess having the worlds most powerful/fastest supercomputer doesnt help Tennessee much. Back to work all!

At least they're not leftist weenies.  That counts for more than any of those other silly feel-good "data" points. When you're a Real American, you realize that everything else is a participation trophy at best, and more likely socialism.

Lousyana and Massasappy are two of the least America-like places I have ever been; I did a lot of telecom repair work after Katrina down there and I was blown away; every thing I had ever heard about it was worse than I had heard. Everything. Only good part was the Mennonite cooking in some of the more agrarian areas of MS, but LA was the one place we tried to avoid or get out of ASAP. Philadelphia and Meridian, MS were a close second.

Vicksburg might be the only bright light over there, but just barely.
