Until reading the word "brochet" I've never before been happy that arthritis made me give up crochet years ago.

No clue, but usually those guys are way too massively insecure to learn an art/craft. Especially crochet, but who knows.

Like the 'tacti-cool' guys. Can't find enough gear to cover up their cowardice and tiny penis.
I like this guy who crochets, I hope he's not a nazi.

Besides, nothing goes better with Polo by Ralph Lauren than a hand-crocheted top. And it's European cut. Plus, it's athletic cut.

I had to make my own beanie for winter because my noggin is so big.

I crochet, but trying to be manly about it sucks.  Making a fisherman's hat in black in an exercise in eye strain.

I've made a couple of "Luna Lovegood" scarfs for my daughters, a bunch of various winter hats for them. and a pair of nice afghans kind of like this one for them.  This one is not mine.

I was going to make one for my dad and step mother, but she mocked my crocheting, so she gets nothing!

At this point everyone I know has something, so I'm kind of done.  I'm way too slow to sell anything.

Oh, I also don't have women swooning for me like in the article.

When I was in residential treatment for alcohol abuse, the young guys (usu. tweakers and junkies) were all crocheting their own beanies, using those circular looms and a hook.

It was funny being a boomer, watching these men play with things that all the girls had in jr high school.  They were constantly shopping online and stalking the mailman for their supplies.

Looked like good therapy though.  I just relied on food.  Captain Crunch and PBJs.  And sriracha.

Brochet? F*ck you and every who looks like you.

If you want to knit, macrame, crochet, whatever, just do your thing. Don't try to "manly" it up (bro ain't gonna help anyway). Do your thing and call it what it is.

Easy way to (maybe) impress your significant other:

Crotchet a rug from rag yarn. It's a good beginner's project. For a Christmas present, I did that for my girlfriend. It's fun and the rugs look pretty damn nice. YouTube has boatloads of videos on how to crotchet a rug. And the crotchet hooks are pretty damn huge.

I guess it's easier to mock the guy who successfully self-treated his mental illness than to blame the writer who came up with that.

Although now that he has some publicity, maybe he can find a better model.

1. That's a rough 23.

2. This evening I was looking on Amazon for a particular book about cats for my daughter. It was her favorite book and I need to replace it because the cat threw up on it. But I digress...

Anyway, I ran across a book about crocheting sweaters for cats and I'll admit I was intrigued. I can't find it now, but here's a link to a book about crocheting hats for cats.

I took up knitting as something I could share with my wife, and she couldn't knit everything for me  I was also jealous that her hobby was mobile and I couldn't work on my scale models in the car on road trips.

I've done some very nice pieces, but nothing as consistently as she can. I tend to do practical stuff and would love to knit some things that can be used year round.

My latest calming thing while I'm watching TV is tying paracord bracelets. It helps me deal with side effects from the PTSD I picked up during the war.

But, hey, you've got "gun" right there in your name, so you go on being Billy Badass.

He's just hairy which makes him look scruffy. Guys that are hairy under 30 look older. And I don't mean guys that grew a big beard, I mean the guys that have the widely spread facial hair, heavy eyebrows, body hair etc.

I haven't picked up a hook or needles yet, but my wife crochets like crazy. We have afghans, pillows, doilies (so, so many doilies), hats, place mats, pot holders, a Totoro, dragon, Link, Twilight Sparkle, and two couches for the cats.

Lately she'll crochet and I'll tie flies while we listen to the Horus Heresy audio books.

I came to terms with the "masculinity" of knitting when I viewed the POW exhibit at the 8th AF Museum in Savanna. If guys could knit their own socks from yarn they made from pulling apart will blankets, I could mage a hat.
