Biden/Harris

I find your lack of Sherrod Brown disappointing.

Biden is too old.   He needs to step aside.  Maybe he's just doing this to confuse the GOP over who to attack?  I can see Biden providing shade, aiming their focus on him.

It was this attitude that brought us Trump.  Well, the D may be shiatty, but is better than the R!  Talk about a low bar.

Yeah.  Let's give up a Senate seat for a VP.  I'm assuming you have heard that he isn't running for President.

I hadn't heard that. I would have preferred him as a vp for his gruffness and because he's generally great.

You should work in communicating your thoughts without being a total turd.

I would have supported him for President.

Sorry.  I got up at 3:00 this morning for UPS maintenance and am not in the best mood at the moment.  I retract the douchebaggedness.

Haha. Let me tell you from a Republican's perspective... it's more like an odd and meaningless dream that it is any sort of nightmare.

No worries. I've been up since 4 with an angry toddler, so I'm probably thin skinned a bit.

As of today I'm convinced Biden is the only one who can definitely beat Trump.  There's a long way to go, and plenty of time for a currently announced or unannounced candidate to sway me.  But as of today Biden is the only one I'm sure of

I would prefer if Harris or Warren were in there.

2019-03-15 08:55:32 AM
Hey, how about instead of biatching that so-and-so is too white and male to be on the ticket, how about we focus on who has the best agenda and platform for sending Orange Twitler back to the hellmouth he sprung from? Because, you know, that's what's actually important. I don't care if both candidates are white men or if they're both transgender disabled lesbian Eskimos. You shouldn't care either. Beating Trump is the objective. Whoever is the best man, woman, or space alien for the job is who we should support and vote for.

Stacey Abrams is somewhere in the GOP nightmare ticket and I am okay with this.

Fox News (Tucker Carlson) was making the same complaint.

I like both of those guys, but that has got to be the most boring ineffectual ticket possible. Democrats have a real chance to demonstrate the vast difference in leadership that we offer. Why waste it?

Also, stop talking about tickets. In a normal world it would be way too early to talk about the primary. We are still a year and a half away from having a VP nominee.

The question is, what's "the job"? Being president, or running for president? They don't require the same skill sets, as we've seen.

So why is Biden such a front runner this time?
Didn't he fail twice as a candidate and then sat out 2016 because he was afraid of Hillary.

And that's not even getting into his baggage.

2019-03-15 09:00:08 AM
I think Biden/Beto would be a great ticket -- Biden can train Beto (Biden is easily the most qualified among the field, it's just that he is old.) Biden can bow out after one term, or even after 2 years plus a day. Giving Beto 2 terms (if he can win them).

It better be Sanders/Warren or I'm staying home

Joe is younger than Bernie -- a point which the Bernie Bros continue to ignore while they attack Biden for being "too old." And Joe is only a couple of months younger than me, and he seems to be in especially good health, so I don't consider him out of the running on the basis of age alone.

I would support Biden/Harris or Biden/Beto in a heartbeat. A combination of real & practical experience at the highest levels (which should NOT be ignored, considering the ignorant and totally inexperienced present denizen of the White House) and youthful enthusiasm.

I can really see Trump's path to victory in 2020 in some of the comments in this thread.

Please stop talking about Biden. He's likeable enough and can swallow a hoagie like (insert proper pronoun) mom, but he has had some questionable opinions about civil rights and he's to f'n old. For that reason alone he can't be the vice presidential nominee, and he can't carry the presidential ticket with younger voters who are mobilizing en masse.

2019-03-15 09:09:27 AM
This ticket could win nationally, but it'd be a step back politically and would probably hurt in local elections.

If you believe in diversity, it's not just something that looks good -- it's important to put fresh ideas and perspectives in positions of power.  This middle aged white guy embraces it.

THIS. Yes increasing minority presence in all level of government is a goal we should strive for, we should not automatically rule out someone over some Affirmative Action crap. Judge the candidates by their policies and likeability, not the color of their skin.

Gotta disagree with the younger voters part. Except for the college-age crowd that tends to vote at insignificantly low levels, we all associate him with Obama, who is still awesome.

Trump has his attacks on women, brown people, blacks, gays, and handicapped down pat.

Both Biden and Beto are are tall, white, heterosexual men.  Just like Trump's Base and just like Trump himself.  It will be extremely hard for Trump to attempt to attack these two.

Witness his attack yesterday on Beto's hand movements.  That's all he had.
