When he heard the GPS say "recalculating", little did he know that the voice was now talking about time off for good behavior.

He said he was also asked to drive two others from Toronto to Calgary.

Going thru the US from Toronto to Calgary is probably the fastest route. Don't blame Apple Maps for this one

It's funny because crossing in to Canada is always a breeze, they ask you where you going and show you where you can exchange your guns for hockey sticks. It's coming back to the US that's always a hassle.

your GPS doesn't get old and decreipt overnight, it's a process you see taking place that tells you to update or replace. gottman methhead moran.

I went to Juarez that way one time. We were just looking parking in El Paso and, welp, I guess we're parking in Juarez.

I don't know what happy luck you've had, but of the dozens of borders I've crossed, going into Canada as a US citizen has always been the biggest hassle. Both times I've entered they sent me to immigration for questioning and searched my car.

A friend of mine used to run pounds of weed across town, and he complained about the anxiety. I wouldn't want the anxiety of transporting quality cross country. At least not without a Smokey or two drawing out cops ahead.

Xethalis told police he has a $2,000 gambling debt. In exchange for waiving the debt, he agreed to transport "something" to Calgary. He said he was also asked to drive two others from Toronto to Calgary.

you know you have a true friend when your drug dealer, to whom you owe thousands of dollars due to reckless gambling, trusts you to deliver $50,000 worth of meth across an entire continent.

For the record these clowns were from Montreal which is in Quebec. Ontario has it's own breed of stupid, well maybe not quite this stupid.

Probably a crummy old hard-to-start pickup with beer bottles and his laundry in the bed.

If you ask any GPS to direct you from Montreal to Calgary it's going to give you the smartest, best route which is through the USA.  Going all the way up around the lakes is much longer on much worse highway with waaaaay fewer services.

But why the fark would you need GPS directions to Calgary from Montreal if you plan to stay in Canada!??!!

Step one:  Follow Decarie Blvd West to Transcanada
Step two:  Drive west on Transcanada

/in 3700 km your destination will be on your right

and now you owe your loanshark/drug lord 52000 instead of 2000, before any interest you generate while in prison.

Oops. Even if took the route through Canada, he would've been hosed. Once you're on the north shore of Superior, there's only one highway and the OPP Nipigon detachment know it and just wait for the fish to come to them through the pinch-point. A lone guy driving through with Quebec plates will stand out like a sore thumb and will be easy picking.

My friends and neighbors that are screaming about needing a wall on the southern border will lose their minds when I suggest Michigan needs a wall.  All that lost shoreline.

Those pills look like the ones that are popular 'round my neck of the woods. They have the word "ice" stamped into them. Don't know if it's really meth but do know it's some kind of speed. Real cheap and popular. Never did any myself so can't tell you more than that.

Oh, it's safe. I saw them put all 2.5 pounds of meth into the evidence locker.

I live in London Ontario, a little over an hour from the border crossing at Port Huron. There's no way in hell driving from Montreal to Calgary should take you anywhere near here, even if you have to stop in Toronto.

Plus the statements that "attempting to transport meth from Montreal to Calgary" and "made the pickups in Toronto" make no sense together.  I'll guess that he started off in Montreal, but the bad shiat (drugs and droogs) to transport were in Toronto.

I suppose it's not unbelievable that a guy dumb enough to rack up illegal gambling debts might be too dumb to find the right way out of Toronto.  Or...  Or he could be so smart that he figured if he got busted by US Customs he might be able to get loose from the bad guys and his bad debt!
