I'm going to go ahead and guess that bear isn't wild.

She'd better tread carefully before she Treadwells.

Now I question whether grizzly bears exist.

It's certainly not wild, but they're smart and can be pretty chill in captivity. You hast have to watch out for that one time they aren't interested in your bullshiat and take your head off.

Hand feeding a grizzly?

You can't see it from that picture, but that bear is so obese it can barely stand up. He's been used for so many photoshoots, he's lost the will to live. He's not interested in eating anyone. He had to eat a case of granola bars just for that last shoot.

They just use him in closeups now.

My guess (and it's probably wrong) is this is in Russia?

Yup.  I'm sure she was wandering out in the wild with a rug under her arm, a bowl of strawberries, and a cameraman in tow. Coulda happened to anyone.

Next week: bear gets shot when he wanders into town approaching other lady to search for strawberries.

And then the murders began...

It's like a giant, lovable dog that may or may not mistake someone for a squeak toy someday.

Yeah, I kept alternating between "D'awww" and "that head is the size of his entire torso."  So glad the payoff I was expecting didn't come.

What exactly does Werner Herzog look like with an expectant look on his face?

Not like this surely

I think she's going to find out that "hand feeding" can be taken very literally sometimes.

Actually, that woman enjoys a fine reputation in the Bear community.

In this rare footage, several bears can be seen celebrating her arrival.

I hope the beast is actually tame. When it comes to wild bears, there's a saying: "A fed bear is a dead bear." Once a wild bear learns to associate humans with food, it's only a matter of time before it gets killed.
