Got home and didn't see a thread which sort of surprised me. My first college basketball of the year, hooray!

I haven't paid a lot of attention over the past few years, but what the hell happened to the Illinois basketball program?

(A) Conference tournaments are the dumbest and funnest way to determine champions.

(B) What's up with the military time? In 'Merica we use AM and PM damnit

Agreed, they're really stupid.

It is part of my one man campaign to drag this country forward in a pragmatic manner, this country will be put on the metric system and the 24 hour clock.

Agreed. It's almost as bad as having a large single-elimination tournament to determine the national champion.

/If it's so great, why don't the NBA or Olympics use the same format?

Metric system would be awesome. Forget 55 - I could drive 100!

The regular season is almost meaningless due to the conference tourneys. Regular season champs for mid and lower level conferences can miss the big dance just because they had one bad day.

OTOH it is a lot of fun to watch these high stakes games. Which I'm sure is why this format ain't changing.

Wolfpack playing for a nice rest before next week's tourney

Tomorrow's gonna be really interesting.  The high seeds finally get into the action in the Big 10, SEC, A10, and American.

Farking Vile a No Va. Hope a 12 seed destroys them in the tournament.

Came into my apartment's common area to watch the game (because who the fark has cable anymore?) and spent 15 minutes struggling to get the super-unresponsive TV to work and finally succeeded just before I would have given up and gone to a sports bar.

Also, is this seriously it for an all-day thread?

From what I gather it was a good game to miss.  I didn't catch it as I wanted to get mom out of the house for a bit since the weather wasn't bad.  I'm not a Fire Mike NOW person but I certainly see where those folks are coming from.

Interesting how my dislike of Lousiville is much less intense now that they have a different coach.  Just a random thought.

I know better than to get excited but this team in orange is giving Duke a pretty good game so far.

Checking in after the Horns lost. Shaka has to go. I'm beginning to think the 2011 Final Four was the biggest fluke ever.

Also, no work for me tomorrow so I'm watching Utah-Oregon. And unfortunately, listening to Bill Walton. Dear God, he's awful. Constantly talking about everything except the game that's supposed to be watching.
