(WSOCTV)   Wreck your unmarked police car? That's OK, just call it in stolen. Just don't leave muddy bootprints at the scene of the crime and be wearing those still-muddy boots when the police come to your apartment   (wsoctv.com) divider line

Several years ago a police chief in Massachusetts wrecked the department's new cruiser while driving drunk. First on the scene were federal park rangers. They waited around until local police agreed that he would not get a quiet ride home.

Looks like he'll be doing all the running he wants up at the Statesville prison.

/ I never knew there was actually a town named that.

Huh. That moment when you realize you are no longer cop material.

Neighbors told Channel 9 police in Hickory have shown up at Rivera's apartment for weeks after taking out warrants for filing a false police report.

I had to read that 3 times before I understood.

Oh, and why to I hear Staying Alive in the background?

Maybe Statesville can borrow The Powerpuff Girls from Townsville.

They must not like him at the station or they'd have covered for him.

I did.  "Statesville?  Hickory?  I know those names.  Oh, dear."

No way a police officer would do such a thing. It's against the law.

Should have made a more basic story. One that ruins his New Years eve sober. "I dodged a deer and lost control" would have been just a simple enough lie, paired with "it wasn't coming out of the ditch, so I hoofed it home." No admission of drinking, and a regionally familiar cause.

"I was mugged and my car was stolen" is something I'd make the other lie to cover up. Basically "I'm a weak biatch who surrendered my keys rather than tossing them".

This guy will face harsher consequences than cops who murder black people.
