They blame the U.S. when the power goes out, but they never thank us when we turn it back on.  Ingrates.

Ooh that's a new one!

FTA: "The Information Minister used the press conference to accuse supporters of the opposition leader, and Venezuela's self-declared interim president, Juan Guaido, of trying to bring down the electrical grid by plugging in all their appliances."

Meanwhile Maduro says the Americans did it.  It's almost as if they're just making things up as they go along.

Is that a wise thing to do?

The Information Minister used to the press conference to accuse supporters of the opposition leader, and Venezuela's self-declared interim president, Juan Guaido, of trying to bring down the electrical grid by plugging in all their appliances.

On Monday, Maduro said the recovery from power outages will be "little by little" and blamed the United States for attacking the power structure, saying the "imperialist government of the United States ordered this attack." He offered no proof for the claim.

Well shoot, that's good enough for a handful of Farkers.

I like the way CNN put incompetence in quotation marks:

The US has attributed the outage to the Maduro regime's "incompetence."

Are they implying that the Maduro government's incompetence is questioned by anyone (whose name is not Maduro)?  The country has the world's largest oil reserve and they somehow managed to achieve a starving and rioting populous.  Their currency is worthless, they have no toilet paper, and seem to have a problem keeping up the electricity grid.  Yup, the government might be competent.

Bet they never thought they would look back to the days of being under a US puppet government fondly.

Hey, it works for America, right?

I have little sympathy - they made gobs of cash when they first hit oil back when gas was $4 a gallon and they blew it all on stupid crap instead of trying to plan for a future when oil prices would fall again.  They had money, lots of it, and spent it all like a rap star with a winning lottery ticket.

It didn't have to be this way - they did this to themselves.  Now they're on the fast track to being just another standard issue US puppet dictatorship and their oil will end up getting sold off to Haliburton for pennies on the dollar.

Fools and their freedom are no better than fools and their money.

I assure you that if the "imperialist government of the United States" took down Venezuela's power grid, it wouldn't be coming back on while Maduro is still in power.

Hell, it took that long when we had a derecho here in the DC 'burbs to get power back. And let's not talk about when I lived in FL, about 15 years ago, and two hurricanes came through: try 10 days....
