I am Tom Joad's Complete Lack of Surprise: After yesterday's shiatshow, I wouldn't be shocked if she just dismissed all changes and apologized to him.

She's already threatened him with jail time more than once.

This time, she'll break out a strongly worded letter!

Hold on now. Lets not just throw the biggest gun right down on to the table and waste it when we could instead threaten to write a strongly worded letter first.

He's going to jail. The difficulty is that kind of martyrdom is what he  wants.

She'll be lucky if he doesn't give her jail time.

She didn't even do that. She avoided it altogether.

What the fark is up with these weak, pushover judges? I thought judges were supposed to be tough and serious about crime and maintaining law and order. Apparently that only goes for poor people and especially minorities.

That is correct. She went out of her way to say she wouldn't address it. The whole "no third chance" thing was BS just as expected.

I disagree.  Judge said she hadn't looked at all the documents yet.  He's still not out of the woods yet.

The general purpose of the American Law is to protect the property and the person of the wealthy from the non-wealthy, and to ensure that the non-wealthy are not treated as equals to the wealthy.

That's sorta how I read all of this.

Today was just a hearing to set a trial date (its in November some time), and she will address the book etc, at a later date.

He ain't outta the woods yet.

The concept that this parody of a man can stay even remotely 'gagged' until a trial in November is highly dubious.

I doubt it. The judges on these cases are like the UN. Insuring that you'll die in federal prison is the guideline for each charge in your felonies against people of the USA... how's two years instead? Two work for you, because it works for that sweet condo on the beach I'm getting in Jupiter FL when this all blows over.

Beat me to it.

I do like the fact that we are no longer even having a pretense of a just nation now.  The mask is off and we can get a good look at how farked up and corrupt our judicial system, nay, our COUNTRY actually is now.

If he was poor and black, they would have just shot him in the court room, legal like.

Just throwing this out there- leaving Stone free is a calculated move because they think he's just stupid enough to do more stupid things that may prove useful to the lawyer case.

That's his goal.....go to jail over being the same level of dumb and obnoxious he always is.
Then he gets pardoned.
Then comes the book deals and the speaking tours and guest appearances on FOX.

This is not punishment.  This is his road to significant historical note and greater financial success.

-Stone keeps running his farking mouth

...and on and on. I really wish we could wear Rick's alternate-universe goggles and see what these shiat-swizzles could accomplish if they weren't "in the club".

// Stone fell into a deep fryer and died
// Manafort died penniless on the streets after the CVS manager accused him of stealing $20 from the till
// Ivanka wants to talk to your supervisor
// Don Jr died on the way back to his home planet

This but it may tactically be a good move for him.  He's trying to get a pardon so the sooner he gets behind bars and plays the martyr the better.  He has to make Trump fear that he is going to flip.  That's not happening if he is free and if waits until he is convicted - it is also too late.  His window for a pardon is right now and Stone has to make the best play for it possible.

Yea... it's almost like both judges can the lightest sentences they could without trigger some sort of judicial review.

"Jackson set a trial date of Nov. 5. Stone's legal team will review nine terabytes of potential evidence collected by prosecutors - if printed, enough paper to be stacked twice as high as the Washington Monument, according to one of his lawyers."

Wat??? 9 TERABYTES? isn't that an insane amount?
