facebook starts turning into a creepy stalker if you ignore it for a couple of weeks.  it starts sending you messages, suggestions.  "here - I've matched your friend suggestions with this really hot looking single woman who lives near you via this incredibly vague and sketchy 6-degrees-of-separation algorithm buried in my source code'.

These days, discord is just IRC with a prettier interface, less utility, and optionally the ability to hear the people you're talking to.

/Minor rant, I kind of hate discord. So many communities use it, which hides all their information from search engines. This means, if you're trying to find an answer within a particular topic, you can't just google it and find a forum post with the answer. Have to join the community and search or ask there. Especially prevalent within gaming and early access titles.

That is considered a bonus for the console hacking scene that seems to like discord. The media support allows for better collaboration and makes discord worth using over IRC. IMHO.

This is very interesting to me. The DOJ is currently headed by a guy who openly says that the mission of the DOJ is to protect the executive branch.

Yet the DOJ is taking on funders and enablers of the current administration.

The SDNY prosecutor, like all other federal prosecutors, serves at the pleasure of the President. It is well within the authority of the President to remove and replace the current prosecutor for all of these investigations and with his track record I expect it. After all, he fired Preet when he started investigating people around Trump.

Has McConnell told him that no new nominees will be considered for the job if the current one is dismissed? Does Trump believe that if every one else is brought down then he'll be able to claim it was everyone else but him? Maybe he believes that if he lets the system purge his connections then he can rid himself of obligations to the Russians.

Fun fact, the most popular bot engine is still eggdrop. And I know this because we can't seem to go a week on the Tcl support groups without having to teach some eggdropper basic Tcl syntax.

Tcl could have been the scripting engine for the web, but no, we had to be the scripting engine for IRC. (Ok, and to be fair, it's also basically the foundation of Cisco IOS.)

Huh. Not for me  it doesn't.  I don't get emails from it at all. Either it's given up on me, or I've created some kind of email filter & forgotten about it.  Anyway, I check it about once a month, if that.  Too much work for too little benefit.
