Hold on, former. . .?

Excuse me for my ignorance, things move at a mile a minute with this administration, and if I take a break for even one day it seems like I miss a lot. . . When did this happen? Who's The current AG?

*Does some googling.*

Ah, okay. All caught up now.

But yeah, Matthew. . . Let this be a lesson: most rats jump off the sinking ship.

And this asshole was known for sitting around the Oval, shootin' the shiat with Trump, stroking his ego and whispering about how to handle his staffing problems... He BUCKED for that job.  He farked over who knows how many people to convince Trump he was the guy for that job.  I think we all pretty-much said the guy had to be incredibly stupid to take the job in the first place.  Donald Trump throws everyone under the bus.  Everyone.  He can't help himself - there is no other way for him.  He doesn't even need a reason.  It's simply his nature to fark everyone over at the earliest opportunity.

Anyone who can't see that or thinks they can manage it to get whatever benefit they think is on offer for doing his dirty work deserves what they get.

fusillade762: Was there ever any farking doubt that was the case??

of course not...but the conservatives had to at least pretend Whitaker was neutral or the plan wasn't going to work.  I mean it ended up not working anyways but that's not the point.

Trump really isn't very good at this stuff, nor are the people he's hired.  I'm honestly shocked Trump hasn't just started throwing his domestic political opponents into a jail cell or had his trumper cultists start shooting liberals down in the streets.  Because that's the next step in all this crap.  Trump is losing this fight: the law is against him, the GOP is starting to OPENLY fracture, and the Democrats are not only unified but actually staying focused (and holy F*CK is that weird!).   Trump is eventually going to realize he's got nowhere to go with this stuff.  the Dems aren't going to STFU - they're going to keep stacking evidence up around him AND the Republicans.  if you think people are angry with the GOP right now, just wait until the Democrats make it clear that every last ONE of their party is just fine with gotdamn shiat sucking treason.  they're already getting pelted with garbage....things will only get worse for 'em.

*sigh*

so yeah.  Trump's next move is either take that final step and start killing people to stay in power...or let the Dems squeeze him out slowly and bleed the GOP to death slowly, cut by cut and case by case.

Ok, multiply by 10. Sounds terrible, right? Well, you are still off by at least one order of magnitude.

jerryskid: The Trumplicans seem to think that Nadler has it out for their god trump

yup.  that's their last, final refuge.  "we're not guilty, we're oppressed! ignore all that evidence of criminal wrongdoing!  we're OPPRESSED gotdammit!"

I think even the trumpers know what it is they're defending.  its just that the conservatives are dimly aware that openly saying they're fine with breaking laws in order to win is somehow bad for their side.  they might not know WHY its bad to get caught cheating but they know people don't like it.

There's a lesson in life here. Trump is dirty. And like all dirty people in positions of power, if you associate with him long enough, you're going to get dirty too. People like Trump are not comfortable having good and decent people working for them. They do their best to corrupt them.

An interesting, but not shocking, thing I've noticed about all Trump's minions is that whether on camera or in person, none of them truly ever look their audience in the eye. I don't know if he just attracts people who are incapable of connecting with other humans or if they're just crappy liars who can't spew their shiat with any sort of actual engagement. Their words proclaiming their innocence mean nothing when their body language screams "guilty".

/so much for cult leaders being "charismatic"

fusillade762: From a CNN article I found

The revelations raise questions about whether Whitaker was given the job -- after Trump fired Attorney General Jeff Sessions last fall -- because the President was looking to install a loyalist who could rein in the federal probes dogging his presidency.

Was there ever any farking doubt that was the case??

No, there was *never* a doubt that Whittaker's role at DOJ was as Fat Donny's "Get out of jail free" card.

In fact, one of the most galling aspects of this thumb-headed toilet salesman is the way he's been obviously coached to behave: prissing around in a suit, "That's an excellent question, congressman," generally acting like a hobo's caricature of how "a bidnessman" would behave in a legal hearing.

Seeing news media and congress treat Republican President Donald Trump's coterie of lickspittles, thieves and morons like they were qualified professionals, working towards the improved welfare of America, is infuriating.

nope. Trump himself has admitted to it. He said if he'd known Sessions was going to recuse himself from that case that he'd have never put him in that job.  That my friends is a confession that he wanted to obstruct Mueller's investigation. period.

Even Conserative Fartwhistles lose their cool when someone who is supposed to be leader of the free world falls apart on live TV.  It's like trying to calm your raving, insane great grandfather as he descends into a dementia and racism-fueled rant, and it's at that point you realize you're out of Thorazine.

I've got a couple of buddies who went to high school with this choad. One of them is pretty active in republican politics in the area and touts their friendship on FB pretty often. Well, until recently he did.

I'd love to call him and invite him for beers and start talking about Whitaker at some point, but he knows what I would want so he would probably decline to even meet up.
