Not that he isn't a complete mother Tucker, but saying of a beauty contestant, "She's appealing" doesn't strike me as a huge outrage.

I wonder. Part of me is fine with this, because to this day Tucker Carlson proves to be a huge bag of dicks.

But part of me thinks that when one goes on "Bubba the Love Sponge" one might not be taking the interview quite so seriously, and instead may try to assume a personna, being as outrageous as possible.

It's no different than when one goes online: this version of ourselves isn't our true personna.

If he was assuming a troll character, then maybe not use his given name then?

Otherwise you're a human troll and own your words as your own.

Shouldn't deciding to do a show called "Bubba the Love Sponge" automatically give someone pause for gainful employment?

This. This right here, modern problems require modern solutions. You want civil rights then effect corporate profits.

The thing I love about this story is the way the audio tapes are being released piecemeal.

After the first dump, Tucker took some talking points out in his own defence. It was a joke, it was a heat of the moment thing, I was defending free speech, etc etc.

Then they just kept coming, making it clear this wasn't a one off boys being boys locker room banter thing.

This piecemeal release is making it clear that this is a pattern of behaviour, and indicates a set of attitudes that are both stable across time but also across a range of topics.

Rather than being overwhelmed by a volume of material in one hit and ignoring the individual pieces within it, this slow release is really showing that it isn't an accident or bad luck or a slip of the tongue - this is who he is.

And he's an arsehole.

FTFA:"She's like, she's vulnerable," Carlson said. "She's like a wounded gazelle, separated from the herd."

She was a teenager - under 18 at the time - and in the clip I heard yesterday, Tuck was sure to mention she was of legal marryin' age in FL.

It's creepy as fark in every direction.

If that is one's motive then why not assert that as one's motive instead of whatever Tucker's been doing thus far?

Recent polls have shown less than half of Americans have a favorable opinion of Tucker Carlson.  Why do you think this is?

I personally believe that Tucker Carlson is unable to be, uh, some people out there in our nation don't have class and, uh, I believe that our media, like such as in Fox and, uh the Hannity, everywhere like such as, and I believe that they should-our media over here in the U.S. should help the U. S., uh, or, should slap Hannity and should slap the Tucker Carlson, and the rest of the world, so we will be able to build up our future, by tossing these useless farks in a huge pile of South Carolina pig shiat.

You might be a pedophile if you know the age of consent laws for any state that differs from the standard 18 and use it as "proof" you're not doing anything wrong.

Yes. Problem is, that was already obvious. Even or especially to his viewers, who are mostly arseholes themselves, and eat Tucker's crap up like candy.

I think inadvertently hits the nail on the head with regards to when these guys... Peaked... Intellectually, physically, and otherwise.

They never made it anywhere past high school, it was the best time of their lives, and they know that no one they want to bang now will give them the time of day.

They are stuck in high school, the 4 touchdown passes they threw, and now the vast majority of them are selling shoes.

Kind of a difficult defense when Tucker's voiced similar attitudes and opinions on his own show.

I actually had a lot of sympathy for that Miss Teen USA girl.

Everyone who has done any amount of public speaking or public performance has, at least once, gotten up on stage, before the class, or in front of the camera and just . . . farking died. It happens.

She deserved every iota of good natured ribbing for eating shiat in front of a national audience.  But damn, the hate directed against that girl was something else.  Calling her a "dumb biatch" was basically the peak of Everest in terms of least toxicity, and everything else just went lower and lower.

Counterpoint: what I post online IS my true persona, more or less.
No, my name is not rerun, but I don't abandon my core values when I post stuff on Fark or elsewhere.
If I post off-color jokes, it's pretty clear they're jokes.
Is it stuff I would say offline?

Depends on the company I'm with, but I usually don't say things online that I couldn't say off it.

Tucker wasn't adopting an "outrageous persona" to appear on a shock jock radio show. That's the real Tucker he hides from view the rest of the time.
