I would rather have this on the front page of every major news organization than the utter nightmare we have now.

Hey, Rocky. I don't think you should mess with that eagle.
Relax, Bullwinkle. I know what I'm doing.

Shiat, this feels like an omen. Which country's national symbol is a squirrel? Can we start bombing today?

Squirrels are assholes.

They would regularly taunt and tease my dogs...and every now and then, one would lose. Fur goes flying, all of my dogs go full-predator, and the squirrel screams and shrieks until it is over. I feel a bit of sympathy as I bury what is left of the squirrel, but they have it coming.

I used to vacation at Squam Lake (NH) and back in the day before satellite TV, we got one snowy local network affiliate out of Portland Maine and I'll never forget the time that the top story on the local news was the result of the husband and wife obstacle course race at a local fair.

Squirrels are just tree rats with good PR.
Cute, but still a rat.

It saddens me that the news up here now is all LePage all the time. Even with him out of office. Tabernac!

Squirrels tear up my yard every Autumn.
Then in the spring I get lots of volunteer trees where they hid nuts and never consumed them.

It came down to the difference between bald vs. balled.

Those aren't volunteers -
THEM ARE TREES AND SQUIRRELS AND NUTS WORKING TOGETHER LIKE THEY'S MEANED TO DO!

Actually, according to TFA, the squirrel in question was probably female:

"Gray squirrels in Maine can have litters in March/April, so it's certainly possible this is a mother defending her young," Webb said.

No more dangerous critter than a mother protecting her young, even if she's just a squirrel.
