Where's his security elf through all this? Shouldn't someone be protecting Wohl's kneecaps?

I guess no one's going to do anything about this kid? He's like Stone, just completely bananas, yet somehow no one does anything.

This little sh*tstain needs to be put on ignore by the universe.

So he's going to get charged with 16 felonies like Jussie Smollet, right?

Scorpitron is reduced to a thin red paste: I guess no one's going to do anything about this kid? He's like Stone, just completely bananas, yet somehow no one does anything.

He doesn't do anything actionable, generally.  Being an asshat isn't a crime.  And proving libel/slander against a public figure is almost impossible.  You have to both prove whatever was false was known by the perpetrator to be false and that they said/printed it with the express intent to cause direct harm.  If you found a note written in Wohl's own handwriting saying "I know [something] about [public figure] is completely false and I am still going to spread it because I want to destroy their good name" you might - might - actually get a conviction out of it.  But sans that, no dice.  Wohl gadflies around waltzing vaguely near the line, shows his ass, and then scarpers off before anyone shows up to challenge him.  Stone did the same thing.  Insinuate bullshiat without actually saying it, and let people make the jumps themselves.  AS long as his lies were vague enough, or he could barely cover the fact he didn't believe them with a fig leaf, going after him wasn't worth the effort (who's going to go after him with little chance of success and offering him fuel for his faux martyr routine?).

Except for the fact that making a false police report is a crime irrespective of libel law.

Yeah, and paying someone to make false statements about sexual harassment is a pretty clear cut case of 'I knew it was wrong.' Where are the charges on that one?

White, conservative, of some means, somewhat politically connected, and working in the service of the interests of billionaires; precedent for more serious criminal activity is probation and minor fines, followed by a house resolution honoring other crimes committed.  We'll be lucky if some officer tells Wohl to be more careful in the future.

We need to look into whether he's "lived an otherwise blameless life" before we know how hard to slap his wrist.

*taps earbud*

Wait, I'm being told he stole money from rich white people which is why he's banned from the stock exchange for life. Definitely not blameless.

Arright boys get out the yard stick this wrist slap's gonna HURT.

republicans believe they're above such petty concerns.  they're 'saved' and the elect can do anything/everything they want because Jebus already gave 'em their golden ticket.

if this all sounds familiar, that's because it's been done before and didn't end well for the people who tried it.

Republicans replaced the Bible, God, and Jesus with their own gods and rules. Many of them now worship Trump and heed the GOP's writings while still insisting they're Christians. Their new commandments tell them to do everything that's the opposite of what God and Jesus told them to do while showing a facade to everyone else and projecting what they do onto all of their enemies, which is everyone who's not a rich white older American male.

And he 100% just did it.  The evidence is there and it is damning.  He filmed himself committing the crime, for fark's sake.  I doubt it's a 10+ year felony, but he can and should get jail time for this.

near as I can tell, Wohl has never faced and real trauma in his life.  there's nothing I know of that could cause THAT level of emotional damage.  I mean not unless his home life is/was something out of the Hellraiser movies.

oddly enough, I think getting booted off social media is a FAR more effective punishment for most of these right wing jerks than prison time.  locking these morons up only justifies their persecution complex.  But locking them out of social media cuts them off from the only thing these empty people seem to care about - attention.
