Because status is that powerful, it is true looking like you are smart is more important than actually being smart. Some that is intelligent but moral, will not go as far in our world d as someone neither bright nor moral. And dosen't that sound like the kind of culture you would expect great things to come from?

So what did they do? Says they talked on the phone with a witness about it. Were they profiting off the scam or were they using it to get their kids into better schools?

"This case is about the widening corruption of elite college admissions through the steady application of wealth, combined with fraud," said U.S. Attorney for Massachusetts Andrew Lelling.

"The plot involved students who attended or were seeking to attend Georgetown University, Stanford University, UCLA, the University of San Diego, USC, University of Texas, Wake Forest, and Yale, according to federal prosecutors. "

As a PSA, since we San Diegans are familiar with the error, I'm going to preemptively warn everyone in this thread that there are three major universities in San Diego:

University of San Diego, (USD), the subject of the article, is a private (Catholic) school, in Linda Vista.
University of California, San Diego, (UCSD), is a public school, part of the "University of California" system (sister school to UCLA, Berkley, et. al.), in La Jolla.
San Diego State University, (SDSU), is a public school, part of the "Cal State" university system (sister school to CSUN, CSUSM, et. al.), in Mission Valley.

Okay, but... Yeah.  Like, we saw the Kavanaugh Hearings.  We know about Skull and Bones.
Rich people put their shiatty children into "elite" schools where they make connections with other rich people's "elite" kids, and they all get jobs at each other's parent companies.

They don't earn anything, they are just given stuff while they drink and rape their way thru school.

USD is not that prestigious of a private school, they must feel honored to be included in this list.

Parents paid Singer between $15,000 and $75,000 per test for someone else to take the SAT or ACT exams in place of their college-aged sons or daughters, according to the court papers.

But lets all focus our attention on a few of the people who collaborated on individual crimes who happen to be famous, instead of on the person who was the prime figure in all of the crimes but who isn't famous.
