The same people who lied us into Iraq are attempting to lie us into Venezuela.

Time to grease up the ol' military-industrial complex.

Because all we need right now is a Iran Hostage Crisis or Benghazi.  Y'know, an actual crisis rather than a self-inflicted one.

They're going to overthrow their government, aren't they?  And then Trump will get to brag about how democracy and capitalism will always beat socialism (even though Venezuela is suffering from just plain old fascism) and Trumps supporters are going to blow a load over this 'victory' and post a million memes of AOC waving a white flag and good lord I am just never going to be able to talk with my relatives on Facebook EVER again, am I?

See, with us losing the House, we can't simply steal money from the poor by law, so we need a war to siphon that money away.

Bolton think he found some yellow cake?

Socialist governments would work a lot better if they weren't always being attacked from every direction by capitalists intent on proving at all costs that socialism is bad and scary and will cause stuxnet to cripple your industry and infrastructure until you cry uncle.

When you got a 10 month old, and all the relatives want pictures... Facebook is still way easier to distribute them.

They are gonna wag the dog.

The US is going to stage in Colombia(Colombia in the last 6 months has had a huge uptick in calling in 18+ year olds to do their mandatory service, those from poor communities).  Two of my nephews got grabbed right out of high school.

Maduro has a fair amount of working jets for his air force, and although the US would provide air support, he has enough where a few could get to Bogota and destroy the capital.

Colombia helping the US will turn the rest of Latin America against Colombia and this would even further destabilize the region.

This is what Putin wants.

I'm very curious, since I know you have extensive background with the region: What do you think the US should do?

I think he'd still have to get approval to attack a white-people country, but it's carte blanche for any country run by brown people.

Only if we're asked us to provide it. Because the last thing I want to see is the leader of some country accusing us of spreading AIDS (or whatever) in what we provide. I can get by without gratitude, but not with hand-biting.

If we're backing the opposition it goes without saying that we have CIA ops in there doing their best agent provocateur duties. We have so much practice at this shiat it's embarrassing. I wouldn't be surprised if we're behind the power outages.

Nancy all but abdicated yesterday, meaning there is no need to go through channels and be all formal like that. I'm sure a tweet will be fine to order the first nuclear strike that Trump wants, and she will just not fight it since she will assume that's what the voters want.

We are.

I'm leaving the country for good within the next six months. I hope that gives me enough time. If the nukes don't fly by then. If the travel bans for all arent' enacted first.

You guys don't see it, but I do. Nancy was the pivotal turning point. She signaled to some that the fix is in.

shiat will start to get bad fast now that the Oligarchs know they have won.

Yup. Reason Maduro stationed troops there.

Up the domestic pressure on Maduro by closing schools and the government, Shutting down the power grid puts stress on the infrastructure and the international community calls it a humanitarian crisis while ignoring the fact that Puerto Rico went 9 months in some areas without electricity....

The military didn't defect from Maduro, and if they see evidence of US covert action, it is only going to galvanize them with Maduro.

I see this going the way of Iran in 1953 with a 70's and 80's Chicago Boys economic shock doctrine mixed in.

Maduro gets deposed. Opposition leader preferred by US is put in his place. Opposition leader is deposed after they fail to stabilize the country through right-wing neoliberal economics netting the US corporations a tidy windfall. Citizens vote for and elect an anti-US president. Relations with Venezuela are crap for the foreseeable future.

(John Bolton getting a hard on for nuking them is implied)

No one needs aid in Venezuela. Everything is fine. In fact, the so called "inflation" has made every man who owns an onion a millionaire. How could it get better than that?

If you think there are millions of refugees flooding across the border, you've probably just been hypnotized by (((Elliot Abrams))).
