The NFL owners were never going to let Donnie buy a team. The NFL due diligence  would have shown Donnie is not a billionaire and that is required to be part of the NFL owners club.

ESPN's "30 For 30" episode on the rise and fall of the U.S. Football League heavily implies that the reason why Trump got involved with the USFL was when he tried to buy an NFL team in the 80s, and the current owner laughed in his face when Trump could barely scrape together half of the listed price.

Trump's thin-skin and horrible business sense is allegedly what destroyed the USFL when he idiotically decided to seek revenge against the NFL by making them compete head-to-head in the ratings, despite the fact the USFL was enjoying success as a spring-summer league catering to NFL-starved football fans in the off-season.

By now you have probably seen the theory that Trump and the Trumpers harp on the collusion with the Russians because it is one crime they did not commit. Nothing makes you more confident in your protestations of innocence than getting your enemies to accuse you of something that you did not do, so you can play the innocent with a clear consience. It's a reverse straw man. You induce a straw man in your opponent and then ceremoniously burn it and him alive.

I don't believe this is what Trump is doing, but I wouldn't put it past him. Lawyers are past masters in not lying. They don't have to if they are smart enough, they can induce the contruction of a lie in your head, then simply stay mum on the real crimes of their client.

A smoke bomb, so to speak, to produce the idea that the fire is elsewhere while you burn down the house.

But I don't think this will help Trump and the Trumpers a bit, because whie they have been playing gas-light murder, Muehler has been patiently investigating the real crimes under the cover of the fake crimes, and now there are any number of DAs armed and ready to jump out of the Trojan Horse and burn Troy to the ground while slaughtering the Trojans and their little horses, too.

Bluff and double bluff? It could be. But I know that Trump's lifetime record for lawsuits is all you need to understand his lifetime of crimes. And collusion with the Russians, although a lucrative trap for a few of the corrupt cronies of King Golden Calf, is a grain of salt in a mountain of sand compared to the financial, sexual and political irregularities that the Goop has committed in just the last few years, let alone since Trump was the golden-haired boy of Daddy's schemes and Trump's financial wobbles with kleptocrats, oligarchs, international mafiosi, and internation scum. Not to mention his beloved strong men and dictators.

Just an awful reminder: Trump is just a pathogen in an enflamed cyst where white collar crime goes unpunished and is allowed to fail upward. He was just stupid enough to attract a spotlight to it by becoming president.

I had stopped listening to the Rachel Maddow podcast for a few years, but I heard a couple lately.  One talked about a particular New York state department that had forced Deutsche Bank to pay a few hundred million in fines, even though it's not an international organization, because everyone does business in that state.  They made Deutsche Bank cooperate once, they can do it again.

They are absolute spineless cowards, to a Tee. Miserable, self-loathing, jealous and wilfully ignorant slobs who worship a character from a crappy TV show because another TV show told them to, but mostly because they practically faint at the sight of a strong, admirable woman leader (or ANY decent, respectful American), simply because they seem to have the genes of a Southern Slave Owner crossed with Nazi supremacist lunacy DNA, paints them as the biggest pussies in the baby crib.
