My neighbor would find it after a few months on her van, I'm sure.

I would turn it over to the police who would (presumably) get access to the BrickHouse subscription records and find out who put it on my car.

I'd put it on a car with an out of state license plate?

I'd take a flight to Vegas and toss it in a sightseeing flight over Hoover Dam.  Then I'd sit back and wait for DEA agent Azzkkr to get that posse of Apache helps to shoot it down.  Yes, I've watched one too many Michael Bay flicks.

I bet the cops would check all their cars then. It would be smart for dealers to attach these to  the cops cars to tell if they are in the neighborhood.

Mail it to China on a slow boat.

Yes.

I had the same thought.

But someone sticking it on my car might not.

And they might have left personal data in the process of acquiring the device.

They can discuss it with the paranoid cops...

Id take out some life insurance with a friend as beneficiary, then leave it on a boeing super max and wait.  Like winning the lottery ;)

I would get an identical one, pull the battery on the one that was on my car and put mine in the same place and find out who comes to get it and see where they go

If I had kids who drove like me as a teen, I might buy one.

If I saw one on my car I would laugh, pretty sure any govt. shiat ain't bright purple and the size of a farking phone

Jokes on you subby, I don't own a car.

I have one of these that i sometimes leave in my checked luggage, in the off chance it goes missing.

I bought it when I did some work for a divorce lawyer and needed to test which tools could detect this type of device on a car. Trick I found was to jam GPS for a few minutes and then use an rf detector.  Also need to look up the model of car and determine if it has a cellular module and try to learn what bands it uses.

Found one module on a woman's car. Crazy ex husband. We used it to get photos of the guy following it to a hotel, I guess to use in court. My idea was to attach it to a FedEx truck, but whatever.

Can't the cops like, track your cell phone already if they want? I think they don't need to put any device on you, you already got one.

/so the device is private
//I'm not married, so not a divorce PI
///work already knows where I go, I carry the phone they provide.
////must be a mistake. Free device!

Go to nearest truck stop.  Stick it on a multi-modal shipping container.

I don't have one on my phone, and I always have location services off unless I actually need the GPS. I usually end up getting ads for businesses in Texas, even though it's 1,000 miles away. I figure that's accurate enough.

I'd increase the number of cameras around the exterior of my home, and see if there is potential to lift prints from the device.

I'd notify the police, and if they declined to take serious action, I'd start contacting local investigative reports in an attempt to leverage publicity to push the police into action. If that fails, I'd put it obtrusively on the car of someone who could get enough attention that an effort is made to find who is accessing data created by the device.

I would begin examining my life for anything that could potentially motivate people to put a tracker on my car.

First, ask why. Heres a map and an itinerary of where I'll be, im that predictable and boring.

Second, catch one of the area strays and give em a new collar.

I would reverse the polarity so that it emitted a tacheon burst.  Then go back in time and find out who put it there.  It would turn out to be me and I'd stop myself.  Problem solved.

I think I'd drive to a busy parking lot and put it on the vehicle parked next to me.

Better to stick it on a tractor / trailer at a truck stop... or on a boxcar in a passing train...

Leave it on the driveway of the neighbors for one of them to find so they think it fell off one of their cars. Any marriage can be improved by a huge fight over trust.

Loads of options for my area here in the Shallow South:

- Put device inside an empty plastic peanut-butter jar. Toss jar holding device into river/ocean.

- Drop device onto rail car entering or leaving local international port.

- Drive to truck stop and attach device to truck with out-of-state plates.

- Place device in recycle bin the day the recycling truck comes by.

- Jam device into nutrition bar and give bar to rats before getting your ass to Mars.

- Call taxi/Uber. Leave device under front seat in vehicle.

- Mail to General Delivery in Lima, Peru (use bogus return address).

- Order something online, selecting UPS/FedEx for delivery. Wait for delivery truck. Attach device to delivery truck while driver is dropping off package.

After doing one of the above, wait patiently to see who shows up looking for their expensive surveillance/tracking toy. Laugh in their faces.

Look for the skankiest looking car in the Walmart parking lot and attach it to that.  Just for fun.

I"m sure some of them go 'Damn, he's at the bar AGAIN? it's only 4:30'

1. put it in a waterproof container.
2. drop it into a river that leads to the ocean.
3. profit?

Nothing, I don't have a car.

2019-03-12 11:10:12 PM
The worst part is that I'd probably know who put it there.  Then I guess I'd have to get another car.

2019-03-13 12:03:21 PM
my assumption would be that someone i know put it there so i'd make sure to take it to as many seedy places as possible, leaving it in each place for a couple hours and document the whole thing.

my guess is that 99% of these are bought by people trying to catch their spouse/SO cheating.
