The author has an odd fascination for the pickle location on the sandwich, like that is the chain's fault.

5. Burger King Big Fish Sandwich

Despite the optimistic name, the fillet is far from crispy.

I don't see anything in the name indicating that it's supposed to be crispy.

I love this time of year.  The 2 for $5 deal on fish sandwiches @ Arby's is great.  I almost went there today, but for the same money I was able to get in to the AYCE chinese place which is usually packed @ lunchtime.  So, I did that.

Also, the Wendy's fish sandwich is awesome.  But 1 for the cost of 2 @ Arby's, I'll take Arby's.

I haven't tried Wendy's, but the Arbys fish sandwich far surpasses the others, and thier King Hawaiian fish sandwich is even better then  the regular.
//I also haven't tried the Chick-fil-a version. Have to overcome personal biases to do that, so I may never know

Can't remember the last time I had a fish sandwich. I should get one.

Jesus died so you could have a choice of fish dicks or nothing on Friday every spring in your public schools.

Had that thought last week, got a box of hi-liner breaded fish patties, some good buns, a decent tomato... Made some tartar sauce... so very good, only issue is the size of the patty, you need about 1.5 for the size of a regular bun or slice of cheese.
FF fish options around here are pretty thin, No Arby's, Wendy's doesn't do fish here, McD's is about it, and I just can't.

We have Carl's Jr, I wonder how their 2 for 5 deal stacks up.

Do you have Popeye's? I saw ads on the Edmonton pucksport tonight. I'd go there if we had one, if they didn't have fish, I'd still probably find something better than the choices I have here.

I have an arby's and a Popeye's pretty nearby. Was wondering what to do for dinner tomorrow. Now I know. If I go to Popeye's I can grab a bucket of chicken and have lunch for a week too.

Probably shouldn't eat fried chicken every day for a week but...YOLO!
I don't eat it very often. Maybe a few times a year at most.

I only knew of their chicken and shrimp. Huge fan of the spicy chicken.. *checks* Oh hell yea. Cajun Fish Sandwich is a thing...
Thanks!

I like the McD's filet-o-fish, even though it's greasy as f*ck and the bun seems really greasy.

But I agree with the author on his number one pick...Gross processed American cheese on the fish sandwich is so gross.

Bread, fried fish, dill pickles and mayo....and maybe a little bit of lettuce and tomato.

Had Popeye's for the first time in probably 6 months for lunch Thursday. It's even longer since I've had it cold. It is so very good cold.

There is no Arby's or Popeye's in my neck of the woods. No In-N-Out, and no Sonic. Not even a Carl's Jr.

I love fish. But, fish at a fast food place is iffy. Just because it isn't that popular.  I only buy at lunch time. The risk is too great that it has been sitting under a heat light for a long time at later times.

My favorite is Culver's. Although that place is famously not fast.

They shut down around here and Captain D's out of Nashville are moving in. I went to one not expecting much but was pleasantly surprised.

It's my experience that you get a fresher sandwich. Because they don't sell as many, they don't keep them under the heat lamps. You end up with a fresh fried fish, but you have to wait longer for it.

I make fish sandwiches the traditional way:  four fish sticks with lemon juice, butter and ketchup on white bread.

Probably I eat more fast food during Lent than any other time of year, just because I like fish sandwiches. They aren't as good as good restaurant ones, obvs, but I prefer them to hamburgers. I get them from BK or Wendy's, usually, with no lettuce, add pickle, tomato, onion. Lettuce annoys me on a hot sandwich.

About once a year I have an odd hankering for the Filet-O-Fish, and will eat two at once. But that's for a time when the others aren't selling their fish sandwiches.

Just to feel self righteous and proud, I  had to drive by Popeyes, Burger King, Arbys and McDonalds to get a Wendys fish sandwich. Mmmmmmm......

But now that I know Arby's is 2 for $5 AND Popeyes is a Po Boy....I'll rethink that if I ever come off my psuedo vegetarian diet again.

I bought two Filet-O-Fish at McD's today. No cheese. Processed orange cheese is an abomination.
