A non-binding resolution that wont pass to pass an impeachment bill that wont pass senate.

Must be fun to have a job in deadlock where you know nothing you do will go anywhere.

At least they're trying. Mueller can always swoop in the middle and leave evidence lying around.

Get the people who won't vote yes on his impeachment out via their crimes, then when the rest are scared enough to convict do the impeachment.

I have no problem with this. Keep the heat up. Eventually Trump may blow his top.

There were a few of these too with Nixon that went nowhere, until they did. Even before he won re-election.

Maybe she should though? It's not that far out, and the nazis is the senate won't vote him out without something they cannot shift aside, even for their base.

Given Fox's effectiveness on the rubes, there might be nothing that will do that.

Remember when the Mueller report was supposed to come out last week or the week before?  You can keep waiting. The time to act is now.

He should so clearly be impeached it is amazing that anyone looking at his presidency in good faith would not find this obvious.

fark that shiat. The report may not come out until after 2020 or even 2024 if other special counsel reports are any indication. They shouldn't wait for that shiat when Trump is admitting to high crimes and misdemeanors on public television.

And then they went on to win the 2000 presidential election.

Impeachment damages the President. Full farking stop. Democrats shouldn't pull any punches tanking any re-election efforts on his part.

Things that are impeachable are not always the same things that require indictments. And vice versa.

Clinton's highest approval ratings were during his impeachment.

2019-03-06 09:21:37 PM
Somebody here wrote this, and more, a few weeks ago, after The Atlantic posted an article explaining how impeachment works.

"The history of its application is widely misunderstood, leading Americans to mistake it for a dangerous threat to the constitutional order. That is precisely backwards. It is absurd to suggest that the Constitution would delineate a mechanism too potent to ever actually be employed."

In other words, yeah, whynotboth.jpg over and over again til it sticks. It isn't one shot goodbye.

How much legislative power did those high approval ratings give the Democrats after the 2000 election?

Thus proving that name recognition is the most important factor in approval rating?

Agreed.  There is already enough out there for impeachment proceedings to begin.  Mueller's report might be the cherry on top, but we already have at least two bigly scoops of the most delicious, luxurious ice cream sitting out in front of us melting away.

no matter what is in the mueller report... even if they have Trump on vidoes doing the quid pro quo with russia and a signed confession... you only get one shot at impeachment.

Yeah, in no way will this and their investigations (however justified) be beat into the minds of middle-America in 2020 the same way they beat into those morons heads that Clinton should be investigated 1000 times and that Dotard was more qualified.

They need to focus on the middle-class and putting forth legislation that will help EVERYONE and make that their platform..not this anti-Dotard shiat. Does that mean they stop? No, it means they put their focus on the legislation (like the anti-corruption bill, the background check bill, etc.) at the forefront, start working on infrastructure, start adding details to the Green New Deal, start widdling down the 20 versions of Medicare For All....

Right now they are fighting a losing battle, even if Dotard is found guilty of every crime we all think he's guilty of, unless it takes down the entire RNC and Fox, they will spring right back up and beat the drums that all the democrats did was investigate and obstruct and we know at least 40%+ of the country will fall for it and vote for these morons again. Every voter over that base % that they convert with their lies puts us all in jeopardy of having more Rs in office.

*sigh* Mueller's report and its supporting evidence are confidential to the AG.  None of it is subject to subpoena.  In addition, the report is not narrative; it lists only who was charged and briefly why, and who wasn't charged and briefly why. AG Barr plans to write a summary report based on Mueller's findings and release that summary to the public.  Given Barr's views on the unitary executive and his criticism of the Mueller probe, there's no reason to believe that Barr will give either Mueller's report or the evidence Mueller collected to Congress voluntarily.  The House is trying to pass a bill making Muller's report public and forcing Barr to turn over Muller's evidence, but it has zero chance of becoming law.
