As always, Hollywood is fast to strike while the iron is hot. Maybe they can still get those Everquest, Swat Katz and Emoji movies off the ground.

Badzt-maru was the best character. He's full of 90s attitude

It seems more and more likely Hollywood has set its eyes on running Japanese properties into the ground once comic book stuff is finally fully beaten to death. Can't say I'm looking forward to it based on what I've seen so far

An Aggretsuko movie would be great, I'd watch the hell out of that.

Cthulu had better show up, is all I'm saying. Complete with bows in his tentacles.

Just the first chapter in the Sanrio Cinematic Universe.

She might take place in the real world as a realistic furry cat-girl.

Believe it or not, "Hello Kitty's Furry Tale Theater" was one of the better 80s Saturday Morning cartoons.  So this could work.

Hello Kitty presents potentially steeper challengers, though. She doesn't talk or, for the most part, change facial expressions.

Actually in animated films she does.  The mouthless blank stare is just her "photo-shoot" look.

Hello Kitty has no mouth, but she must scream. That is why her head is so big.

If they can get Twilight Sparkle to voice Hello Kitty, yes. Otherwise, no.

(One of these days I need to write an extended compare&contrast article showing how the Hello Kitty cartoon is basically season two of the Waldo Kitty cartoon.)

I still find it bizarre that Hollywood/Western media seems to both think something from Japan is popular enough to warrant their attention but needing to be reshaped from what made it popular.

/I remember my sister and I seeing the Megaman cartoon and being baffled at his appearance
//And don't remind me of the original pitch...
