There's a chance you might not even be able to get an Earth drink, like Coke, there (or, if you can, it will somehow be twisted to fit the theme; that's still being decided on).

I do hope they have Quark or Guinan tending bar.

Huh. Times like this it hits me how much Last Jedi closed the door on Star Wars for me - not a speck of interest in going here. Usually I have SOME speck, even though I will never be able to afford it. But this one? No.

Maybe I'll win the lottery, and in 30 years I'll be taking my grandkids to this place because they're big into some Star Wars revival.

Obviously millions of people with billions of dollars disagree, but I cannot fathom how a Disney Park would be fun or interesting. It's a big commercial.

I understand you have to keep the theme cohesive, and this is for the new generation. But the kids aren't the ones paying admission. Is there nothing for the parents, who would want stuff from the original trilogy? Give us Vader! (Or at least bring back the original Star Tours!)

Well, Star Tours was pretty easy to get through when it first opened. Maybe there will be a chance to actually get to this place, and not have to wait five years for the crowds to die down.

Bobug: *email to Mr. Bobug* Yeah, THIS Disney, I'll go to.
*2nd email, after that link* Yeah, I want to go and spend money here.

Wait until Mr. Bobug wakes up, gets to work, gets giddy that I'll concede a visit to The Disney, then see the "spend money there" and laugh.

It gets mentioned on the starwars.com article that things in the park could change over time.  So I imagine at some point they could transition the park to a PT or OT timeline.  There are events that occur on Batuu/Black Spire Outpost during all the movies.  Vader has been there.  So it's not impossible there will be different timelines in the future.
Besides, kids may not be paying admission, but they are still going to forcing a lot of parents to go.  Anyway, I'm ready to build my own lightsaber.

Let's be honest, the EU wasn't exactly filled with a lot of indispensable art... or even good, pulpy entertainment. Also, it's not like you can't still read that stuff, if you like it. The movies will simply take a different path forward.

They are different milks.  The infamous blue milk comes from Banthas which were widely available on Tatooine!  The milk in TLJ is green and comes from Thala-sirens.

You could already build your own lightsaber, in one of the gift shops in Hollywood Studios. It just doesn't come with the silly immersive theme.

Go to Tunisia and see some of the original sets. It's probably cheaper anyway.

Disney might have bought the rights to all things OT/PT , but they're going to be playing
in their Star Wars sandbox as much as they like.

Why not? Universal is raking in the money for people who want to pay the extra $100 or whatever so they can ride the Hogwarts Express. Sounds like a winner for Disney.

Oh, I love Disney theme parks; I have no problem with silly immersive themes. It's just that this one is especially silly, at least the way it's described in TFA. "I am a blue-collar alien who has spent my life collecting stray random castoff lightsaber parts, in the hopes that someone who has the knowledge and abilities of a Real Hero might someday come by and grace my poor hovel and oh my goodness, that's you! Why, you're a Real Hero! And so is literally every single person who wants to purchase a lightsaber from me!" Personally, that wouldn't make me feel like a hero, that would make me feel like I'm getting fleeced by a manipulative and patronizing blue-collar alien salesman.

But one person's too-silly theme is another's way-awesome theme, and I can't argue with that.

Believe me, I know.  It was a stroke of brilliance by Universal.  Evil, infuriating brilliance.

But, the Hogwarts Express isn't the real issue.  That's just the transport mechanism.  A very well executed, thematic transport mechanism.  The true evil brilliance lies in the fact that the placed Hogwarts and Diagon Alley in separate parks.

Seriously, does anyone know if Disney is taking a similar approach?
