Trump's base won't pay any attention to this. D2S will simply point to some existing barriers, claim he built them and campaign on blatant lies. In fact this was probably the plan all along since not even Trump would be stupid enough to use eminent domain to snatch up land in red states with the 2020 election season already warming up.

This. Congress even gave funding for fixing up what's already there, he's just not allowed to spend in on anything new, but his followers won't know that. So fix up a few area's by gluing steel slats to it and say it's a new giant wall, the redcaps will love it and even defend it as a victory.

King: Give me everything I want and nobody gets hurt except my critics and other traitors.

Parliament: We represent the People, the Nobiliity and the Clergy. We don't want to give in to your royal whims.

King: In that case, I will slaughter you.

Parliament: The law and customs of the British People require Parliament to consent to a request for money before taxes may be raised and the monies given to the King for the agreed purposes of his Majesty's laws.

King: That's what I said. I am king and you must give me what I want.

Parliament: On the contrary, my leige, Parliament alone can raise the monies you need to fight your wars and oppress the masses and the  classes. We, the Nobility, and We, the Church, and We the Universities and We the Charter Towns, and We the Commons do not assent to give you these monies.

Parliament controls the purse strings. This is something we call constitutional monarchy. The noble, clerical and popular states do not accede to your whims and willfulness in these things.

King: Then I will force you to do my will and hang the lot of you.

Parliament. Lots of luck, Sire. We are holding the purse strings. You Majesty's armies will be paid when we agree to pay them, not a day, a month, a year or a decade before then. Good day, Sire. Perhaps your Majesty should take a nap and hope to see things differently after a refreshing 40 winks.

The fact that nobody killed Hitler makes us wonder, if time travel is possible, why?

A possible solution (other than the obvious) surmises that the Time Travellers Union leaves Hitler alone because if Hitler is killed, someone who's actually good at war might end up leading Nazi Germany.

Or that Hitler was the least capable person they could put in place.

/  I still think 2016 was the site of a timewar and that the only reason it stopped was that all sides ended up making a timeline where timetravel was an untenable field.
//  Either by getting Republican President Donald Trump elected and destroying society/science

If you kill Hitler, WWII and quite likely the Holocaust would still have happened because the initial conditions are there without him: the humiliating terms of the Treaty of Versailles, the vicious undercurrent of antisemitism, and then the Depression.

In all truth, The Trump Incident (or Affair), as it will come to be known, will eventually be seen as being about a bigger thing than Trump much as it's clear in hindsight that taking away Hitler probably wouldn't have changed the large scale events Hitler was "responsible for." Taking away Trump wouldn't have made the Republican party any less amenable to treason (One may recall he's not the -only- one who clearly bows to Russian masters), or made the deplorables any less deplorable.

It's been said before, perhaps he was even necessary to tear the scab off and expose the cancer upon the body politic (and the greatest threat America has ever faced) that is today's Republican party.

Or someone did kill him and it triggered a fork of the timeline, effectively leaving our time untouched.

Quite true.

And the conditions that created WWI and the punitive terms of the Treaty of Versailles lie in Napoleon's punitive treatment of the Prussians.

When a nation acts like a bully, it comes back to bite them.

We're just starting to pay for our thuggery in the Middle East, and our misbehavior in Latin America hasn't even begun to pay off.

I wouldn't mind visiting a dead Hitler in '43 timeline..or earlier..but it would still be nice to see one where the Valkyrie thing worked at least..

Nazi Germany can't win WWII they way they were fighting it unless they took full control of an oil rich area and maintained a super-robust supply line.

And much of the dumbassery of the Nazi war plans came from obstensibly well heeled generals.

The only thing that would have changed Nazi Germany's fate would have been if they took the Caucuses or the Arabian Peninsula and held it a good 10+ years before even thinking about invading the rest of Central Europe.

Hitler is the fall guy. The Third Reich was already lead by a competent strategist that defeated the Allies by 1943. Assassinating that man by time travel allowed the superior version of events to happen. Due to disturbances in the time line and the limitations of the DeLorean one brave soul from the team had to stay behind and take his place with the exception of deliberately losing the war. To that scrawny, mustachioed language mission specialist we owe an infinite debt. Godspeed, United Rebel Alliance Lt. Albert Dolf of the Temporal Correction Forces... godspeed.

"The Pentagon is planning to ask Congress for authority to reprogram more than $2.4 billion from other military programs into the counterdrug account in order to then take it right back out and move it to the wall project."

The Pentagon has $2.4 billion that it doesn't need for other military programs that it is willing to give to the wall?  Sounds like they are overfunded and we should be using that money for some of the social programs that the Republicans say we can't afford.
