Well, at least it is cold water. Imagine if that warming thing was, like, real...

Isn't that what dams are for? Why build them if you're not going to use them?

The deniers don't GAF. Words don't matter to them. To them it's freedom vs. globalism, and they'll twist themselves into 'logical' pretzels to ensure that they don't have to confront the reality of significant anthropogenic alterations to the global environment.

Damn liberals with their socialist projects.

Sure, they say they care about the environment and then they refuse to let nature take its course and drown us all!

They deny because they're told to deny.  If Fox News changed tack tomorrow and said "We have always considered climate change to be a huge problem requires massive effort to counteract," they'd instantly say that they'd believed the climate scientists all along and can't fathom why nothing wasn't done earlier, must be those damn DemocRATS, amirite?

They'd just shun Fox News. FNC plays on their irrational fears - they don't create those irrational fears.

There's nothing I've been able to determine the deniers care about other than themselves, their own personal convenience, and how much they can lie to twist themselves into deceiving others.

abhorrent1: Isn't that what dams are for? Why build them if you're not going to use them?

Yea, but normally you dont have the majority of damns flowing at full capacity. At least power will be cheap for a bit.

TVA.  Just another failed gov'met program.  All it's ever done is bring electricity and flood protection to millions of people. those people should have been free to live in an area without power and under the constant possibility of property loss and death but nooooooo the nanny state just steps in and takes away their freedoms. typically socialist, elitist, New York, bleeding-heart liberal overreach.

Damns are running full generators and flood gates to max out flow. Which is more than normal and will dump power onto the grid, so yes.

You mock, but when TVA first arrived in the south, there were people taking pot shots at their trucks, because they did not want no government men in their hollow.
