Apparently, you have to be the Rick Perry level of dumb to believe this is a good idea.

Uh-huh. A guy who regularly murders people who criticize him gets nuclear weapons. Sounds like a plan.

Amazing how the ideas and policies the disgraced foreign agents Trump had surrounded himself with keep making their way into official U.S./Trump policy.

Gee, I hope these countries haven't found some way to influence the President somehow....

Guess Iran needs to withdraw from nuclear agreement now.

For those of you just joining the show, these Seth Abramson threads on Saudia Arabia and Trump nuclear grifts should help get you up to speed:

This stuff has been known for a while.

But, hey, Abramson's just a crank, right?

I guess there's the source of their Uranium One projection.

The 9/11 Saudis? Those Saudis?

Giving nuclear weapons to a culture that values killing reporters.

First the Klan, then Nazis, then Putin, now this.  Republicans, you have earned a place in history.

The only objection Donnie has to that is that he doesn't get to do that to his critics.

Funny how all our World Wars are a continuation of the last one.

Pakistan already has them covered.

Can't they make their own? I thought the physics was pretty well known and that it's mostly an engineering problem.

2019-02-19 12:10:11 PM
But at least it's not like Hillary selling Uranium or something.

/Wait

Iran first. The Saudis mostly only pretend to hate Israel.

no no no no..if it was them we'd have attacked them instead of Iraq..right?

*cough*

Right?

Hey whistleblowers, you wait till after he does it to let everyone know. Now nothing happens.

2019-02-19 12:11:34 PM
Ok, I guess I will be the one to point out that the article is about power plants, not weapons. However, especially when you consider that Republicans don't make that distinction when it comes to Iran, that does not make this a good idea.

2019-02-19 12:11:46 PM
How else you going to kick start Armageddon?

2019-02-19 12:12:14 PM
Obviously, if everyone has nukes, than no one will use them. We'll be safe.
Seems like a good policy to follow. Can't believe no one has thought of this before. Stupid libs.

Still much easier to buy them from Wal-Mart than to make them from scratch.

2019-02-19 12:13:27 PM

Gyrfalcon: Bye, Israel.

The Sauds love Israel. It distracts the various Muslim groups from the Sauds and focussed the terrorists externally. The two have been happily dividing the Middle East up between themselves for quite a while. The risk for Israel would be if the Sauds fall.

This is aimed entirely at Iran and would almost certainly force Iran to pursue its only nukes.

This is what Flynn was trying to do before he got arrested. Every day LE doesn't arrest Trump, the country and the WORLD sink further into the toilet.

Maybe things have changed, but sourcing the fissile material is probably the toughest part.  I believe the fact that most countries don't have nukes has more to do with the US actively trying to keep them out of everyone else's hands.

Oh cool Israel and Saudi Arabia having nukes, nothing could possibli go wrong

2019-02-19 12:15:36 PM
The officials who objected included White House lawyers and H.R. McMaster, then the chief of the National Security Council. They called for a halt in the nuclear sales discussions in 2017, citing potential conflicts of interest, national security risks and legal hurdles.

Conflicts of interest, decreased national security, and illegalities are sprinkles on the shiat sundae for this administration.  Why didn't McMaster put some real effort into blocking this; something like telling Trump "You know, Barack was considering doing this too and thought it was a good idea."

Dumbasses.

This isn't about Saudis getting nukes.

It's about the Saudis being able to SELL OUR SECRETS TO THE HIGHEST BIDDER

Putin, Korea, China, anyone is fair game.

It depends on what kind of power plants we're selling, but I can't find that information anywhere.  Given the people involved and how much attention it's gathering, they're probably the "dual-use" kind.

Gyrfalcon: Bye, Israel.

The Saudis and Israel work togethe. They don't shout about it, but it's true. Their opposition to Iran is a big reason, but not the only one.

So Canadian aluminium is a threat to your national Security, but Nukes in the hands of the people who brought you 911 is A-OK?

I am really beginning to hate the US.

I always think of this, like how long can we keep 70 year old technology out of everyone's hand, it can't be that hard if some savages in the 40s could figure it out.
