A Lexington woman recently had an Amazon package stolen from her porch shortly after it was delivered.

But she soon discovered the thieves were not your average porch pirates.

Ashley Craig Hymer said she checked her surveillance camera footage and caught the thieves red-handed.

Her two dogs had wandered up on the porch and curiously took the small package.

Ashley posted the video on Facebook asking if anyone recognized the furry culprits.

Um, what?  A perfectly innocuous "dogs do the strangest things' feature ruined by dint of incompetent reporting.

Wow. Such package. Much Amazon.

Why would dogs be that interested in a package unless it's got bacon in it?

It almost looks like someone trained them to do that.

Looked like lab puppies.  They will take and chew anything not nailed down.  If it is nailed down they will chew it in place.

The criminal element here has certainly learned to disguise themselves in the sneakiest manner.

Ayup, one of my Labs had this 'chew on any paper/cardboard he could reach' issue until he was literally 10 years old. The other never had it. Some do...some don't, but Labs certainly have this rep.

One of our mutts liked to chew cardboard, which was fine.  Chewing up our new recliners, not so much.

I spent my entire viewing time worried about the two dogs running free. I know they belong to someone but am paranoid that someone may hurt them if they wander into the street or into the wrong porch.

I had to view again to appreciate how cute they were.

Still worried though.

Would you still feel that way after they've stolen you wallet? Because these two, I guarantee they'll rob you blind if you give them a chance.

I am ashamed to admit this but....yes, yes I would.

Dogs and some cats render me incapable of self-preservation except in dire circumstances like impending death. Even that could be me being optimistic.
